Bought a '16 Pro RMK, Need Help With Options

My '09 Dragon has broken down the last three times I've taken it out. This last time the steering column sheered in half in the first 10 minutes. Figured enough with that bs, at this point I just want to be able to enjoy a full day out there.

Found a good deal on a '16 800 Pro RMK 155" so just put down my deposit. Picking it up on Wed so I need to know what options to pick from- curious what you all recommend for pipe, skid plate, anything else? Or just better to buy it all aftermarket?

Feeling stoked!:face-icon-small-hap

Polaris ultimate skid plate on mine, works and looks great, front and rear bumpers could use upgrading also along with the stock a arms being on the weak side.

I say just ride it - if you want to lose some more weight, put a can on it.

You definitely want a can to get rid of the stocker just for weight. I went with the SLP pipe and can setup and it really works well. I usually do an HPS can which is a little louder than the SLP can.

You don't need much with this sled, it is a great package from the get go. Just figure out your storage setup (dash bag, tunnel bag, seat bag, etc).

I say just ride it this year. The common upgrades are the a-arms for strength, the can for weight, the rear bumper for strength, the belly pan or front bumper for protection but none are required or necessary to enjoy it.

Another vote for SLP pipe, can, clutching. Once you hoist that monstrosity of a stock can you'll see what we mean.

Now I'm curious... the weight of a stock can on a Pro is a whopping 11 pounds, LOL! Did the weight go up on the Axys models or are you grossly over-exaggerating this???
UPDATE... So GoBigParts posted the stock Axys can weighing in at nearly 20 pounds! That's interesting! So yeah, carry on and get a can!

Thanks,

G

You've obviously never seen an axys can.

Think gigantic

Another vote for an after market can.

My titanium can shook apart so I had to run the stocker again, (new improved can was on the way before it even happened).

Switching back to stock really showed me how much more under hood heat the stock holds in. My knee panels by the stock can were way too hot and kind of deforming which lets the side panel pop off the top tab. After market can fixes this issue.

Love my Polaris extreme bumper. Looks sweet and real easy for strapping the front end down when trailering.

Polaris under seat bag holds more than it looks like it would!!

I noticed this as well with the panels. My buddy and I were out and I have a can, he doesn't. His exhaust side panels were getting soft and starting to deform a bit from the heat. Mine were fine. I never would have thought about this until I saw it. Not sure what a few seasons worth of heating/cooling those panels would do but it's another reason to dump the stock anvil.

This sled is amazing. WOW!

I didn't start riding until last year, although I have a long background in motorcycles and every other motorsport, so I'm not the best rider by any means. But this sled instantly took my riding ability up a few notches. Can only imagine how much fun this will be when the conditions improve and the sled is broken in. I pointed out a few lines yesterday to my buddy and said "someday I want to draw lines like that" - literally within 10 minutes I was doing the exact lines on this sled.
