Bought a 05 900 rmk 159

They work great in the mountains, but the wider front might be a little harder to turn through the trees but might not even be noticeable.

Almost forgot, they still need better boards installed. They ice up just as bad or worse than the 900 because they do not have the edge coolers that the 900 does.

You said you were gettin a skinz front bumper for your 900, what is wrong with the bumper that comes with the 09 plastic kit?

Nothing, I just like the look of the Skinz better and it is wider so there is more to grab onto when pulling the sled out. SkinZ bumper for the 09 front is cheeper than they one for the 05-08's. I also bought a used set of 09 plastics and Guidoxpress is getting my front bumper since he keeps running into trees and breaking his.

Will the bumper that comes with the plastic kit be better than the stock piece of crap that is on my sled?

way better, it mounts to the tunnel and not to the nose plastics like the stock one.

Ok, cool. I'm gonna keep lookin around for a lot of this stuff used for a while and keep my eyes open for a late model sled at the same time. I like to build my stuff instead of buy it, (even though it's usually cheaper to buy it built) because then I know exactly what I have. I'm pretty new to sleddin but the guys I've ridden with say I'm a natural. I really believe that my sled's handling was my biggest problem. It's just a little silly to put $5000 into a $3000 sled if I can buy a newer one that's set up for $6-$7000. I don't know, part of it to is the fact that I need a project for my days off.

Don't put money into a 900 with the idea of selling it. Do it to make it work the way you want it to be. If you put 5000 into a 900 it will out perform that newer stock sled. Total investment in my 05 159 build including buying the sled is 5800 and that is with 09 front, 09 tank, 09 console and seat, and Timbersled front and rear suspension.

If you put $5000 into my sled, what would your parts list look like? In order of importance and necessity.

The list I have above, except you could do the whole list for less than 5000. Look in the parts threads, there was a timbersled skid for 1500 in there.
