Boss seats how much weight loss

Does anybody know how much weight loss you get by replacing the factory seat? I was once told by skidoo service tech I would loss 20 lbs if I switched when I first bought my sled in 04?? I have an 04 rev 800

20 pounds not likely

I put the 08/09 style boss seat(the one without the 20 zippers that looks like a man purse) on my 09 xp. I weighed it and it was like around 4 pounds which was only about 3.6 pounds lighter than the factory one. I have a hard time believing they factory seat even weighs 20 pounds! After 2 rides on it I can tell it was well worth the $350 for it being a 1.5" taller and narrower is much nicer when going from sitting to standing, and the little bit of storage works good too.:D

weight loss

I put the new seat on my rev. I haven't lost any weight. I am still a fat f**K. Jenny Craig perhaps?????

If you have the X seat off the 06summit and 07, its only 2lbs heavier than a boss seat and IMO looks better and feels better than a 4-500 boss seat

i think a big thing with the Boss seat is that they aren't suppose to retain as much water as stock seats. which would save weight. the biggest improvement is higher and narrower i think. but the xp seats are better than the REVs too. i want to try and mock an XP seat on a rev. any ideas?

I changed out my 04 REV-X seat which weighed 20# and installed a R&M Axess seat which weighs 7#, 2.5" taller and narrower with lots of storage. 2nd year and no issues.

The new "man purse" boss seat is lighter than my old water logged stock one. Probably the same weight after you fill the huge storage compartment with crap.

Thats the truth right there! Figured I'd put most of the heavier stuff from my backpack into the seat and have a lighter backpack....nope, now I just carry more junk!

Hmmm, when I weighed my '06 seat, it was 6 1/2 lbs. I cut almost a 1/2 lb of plastic out of the bottom. The only reasons I would spend the money on a Boss seat would be for the height gain, better shape and storage possiblities. not to save 2 pounds.

dont do it

if you are lookin for a boss, dont buy one of this years. Now we know why they are 100 bucks cheaper. the zippers split when cold, the tabs pull out, and the tab clips break off when you rub em with your feet even a bit.

5 rides on mine and i will probably have my upolstry guy replace all mine. wish I kept my older boss instead.
