I'm about 5'8", and found that on my 09 SB dragon, it did lift me up a few inches while sitting. The sled having the tall riser and straight bars, I felt it put me in the perfect position on the sled. It was easier to stand up and maneuver the sled while sitting. last season I did minimal off trail riding and did not find it to be in the way. An advantage being its length not height. I am not an advanced or mountain rider so I typically swing my foot over the back... and its not an issue at all. I've never hopped over the seat to go wrong foot forward or anything like that so I don't know if it would be in the way for somebody.
I was not impressed with the quality of the seat at all, the zippers kept coming open on me and I thought there would be more usable storage. I find that it does have a lot, but it seems to have several small pockets all over the place.
They are sending me a new updated cover as they have fixed the issues with the zippers. I will probably try it out on my new 11 Assault SB, but I may stick with the stocker or even look at the skinz seat or an Assault RMK seat and go another route for storage.
I initially bought the seat, having a 136" SB, for storage so I could also fit an HRP rack. Going to a longer sled, so I really don't NEED it for storage anymore.
EDIT: I am a little annoyed with how I had to pay for the new seat cover to have water proof pockets and zippers that actually work. I understand their situation and that they got hosed from the zipper mfg. but thats just business and thats how they chose to handle the situation and they will have to deal with the unhappy customers. I was told I could either purchase a new cover for $50 or send the seat in and they would change the zippers on it. I highly doubt they really change all the zippers on it... not knowing if I was going to keep or sell the seat I chose the new cover to keep something that was current in case I did want to sell it.
