I'm putting together my BOSS NOSS kit with a 20hp nozzle. I think it will be enough to keep the revs up when attempting 4th gear climbs on hills that can pull 3rd decently.

The problem is always time. Work or play. Gotta keep making money to play, at least for now!

I would not buy a Boss Noss kit right now. I have been waiting for over 2 months now. He charged my card about a month ago and still has yet to ship!!!! Be very careful. I would wait till he gets his **** together. Something is not right. He never answers the phone, no return calls. And when I do get him on the phone he tells me he is shipping next day and of course still no package.

He might have a great product but terrible service and absolutely does not keep his word!!!!

I'd suggest starting with the 10hp nozzle, and then moving to the 15hp nozzle if you want more. IMO the 20hp nozzle is on the edge of what you'll find is "safe-ish", and you'll find you can tap the nitro button and still hold your gear when climbing.
That comment comes after setting up 6 bikes, lots of n20 and going through 2 sets of rings...

Nitrous will allow you to stay a gear taller on the hill. I thought the Boss system worked very well if you can get one. I also would suggest the 5lb carbon bottle.

How much button pressing do you go through a day? How often were you replacing the rings? Trying to get a feel on maintenance before I look deeper into the idea.

We only had to replace rings after we hit the button too many times with over a 20hp shot. Low rpm + too much nitro= rings

I think a 10hp shot, held for the duration of a hill is just fine. It pulled me in 4th with no issues. The 20, 30 and 40 shots I didn't need to hold the button down on- I'd just tap the button every 50 feet or so to keep the rpm's up, or it would hit the rev limiter.

The 2.5lb bottle lasts a ride or so. The 5lb bottle lasts a few rides with a 10hp shot. Really depends on your riding style. You could be out in an hour if you're a show-boater, or out in 3 rides if you use it like I did.

Hey Blaser I was wondering if you wouldn't mind posting some pics of the boss noss install on your bike... i just ordered a kit, but I'm not sure how or where to mount the bottles, any input would be much appreciated thanx.

Great topic

I'm glad someone brought this up, I've been thinking about doing this and can wait to here some more info !

anybody have idea whats going on with BOSS there website is still down and its been months... duh no maybe they somebody who know how to run a business.... or at least let us know whats going on.... think i might just go to boondockers they are always open for business

I had a Boss Noss system on a sled years ago. It never did work right and dealing with Boss was a total nightmare, same with all the seats I bought. I wouldn't use their product or ever do business with them again if it was given to me for free. Sounds like they are up to their old tricks.

Ran the boss nos, Zex and boondocker set ups on my ranger and I love the boonedocker the best. If I had an efi bike I'd be all over a 10/15 hp shot. I love nitrous and if I up grade bikes it will have it!!! Nitrous is like a slut......not everyone can hit it cause they are scared of the consequences!!!!!!

Anyone have an opinion on nitrous on a cr500 with a smart carb.... Is it possible to run small shots with killing the engine?

Once I hit the snow I'll have a review of the NOS system I'm running with integrated Gen4 AFR system. Doing +20 with 2.5lb bottle.

Heating bottles or no?

Came up with I think a pretty easy way to heat mine. Got it all adjusted for a little over 20 on a warm bottle.

A cr5 should be able to take lots of nitrous, with some decent fuel and provided you have it set up right

heat

I've ran lots of nitrous on sleds and never worried about heating the bottles, I highly suggest a wet kit:thumb:
