Boots...

I'm sure Brock Hoyer wears them but obviously his opinion may be a bit partial to them... They do look good.

Alpinestar Toucan. A little spendy, but the ergos are perfect and you don't trash them like snowmobile boots.

I like those! A little spendy, but whatever. I trash my moto boots fairly quick, so looking at all these snowmobile boots, they don't look like they would hold up that great. I'm rough on everything, so spending an extra hundo on something that'll last doesn't bother me one bit.

thanks man!

If any of you guys are interested we can offer a SnoWest member discount on these Alpinestars Toucan boots if you are interested. PM me with any questions.

I have one snowbike season on these and have been really happy with them. You can pick them up for under $200. They have the Euro equivalent of Gore Tex liner. Feet stay dry and good protection for feet, ankles, shins. Here in WA we don't see super cold temps so feet are plenty warm but that may be an issue in some colder climates. If you aren't familiar with motocross brands Garne is a top notch brand like Sidi or Alpinestars. I think the demand for these is low which is only reason the price is low. My other Gaerne motocross boots for summer retail around $800.

I will stay away from the FXR boot because I hate a big box. Its like throwing a hot dog down a hallway..............every time you slip your foot in.

We all wear Motorfist Stomper 2.0's with great luck so far. Obviously kicking on kick start bikes seems to wreck boots faster then anything.

E-start on the KTM along with the larger Adventure pegs seems to have them holding up longer as your not kicking and trying to break ice off of your pegs.

I had over 30 days last year on them (April and May were awesome) and they look brand new. It wasn't a very cold winter, but my feet were dry and warm every ride.

I like the Klim Adrenaline GTX Boa Boot. Much smaller all around than the FXR.

Totally agree with you on the Klim Boa's
Still can shift easily with this insulated boot and great on colder days
I quite often still wear MX boots with thicker socks on warm days though
Most SnowCross boots toes are too large

i blew apart a couple pairs of motorfists kicking my 500. running klim now and no issues

fxr's are way too big

FXR Backshift BOA looked good in the magazine, turned out they are way to big, very difficult to shift and kick start. After two days of riding the kickstart had broke completely through the sole. I have read that Stomper 2.0 is a good boot. Do they hold up to kick starting? How about keeping you warm and dry? I will have to check out their return policy as well.

Little different perspective here as I don't get to ride enough to, IMO, spend big bucks on snowmobile or bike specific boots.
Tried my snowboard boots, thought the support and protection would be awesome. Not sure if it was cause they lasted 15min and I went back to the truck and changed them. Toe box too big to shift and the fwd cant of the boot made it even harder to shift or stand up straight on the pegs.
Have some Rockys I love wearing snowmobiling, toes were again too bulky for shifting. Feel if I moved the shifter up enough to accommodate, I'd be accidentally downshifting every time I moved my foot around. Plus I know the soles are super soft and wouldn't last on those.
I've been using good old fashioned Leather Danner logging boots since. Got 4 good rides on them with about a million kickstarts, lol, and they work great. Hard Vibram soles hold up well to the pegs and the only wear and tear is on the left toe box from shifting and think I could cure that with some of that toe armor stuff you paint on.
Boots are warm and waterproof. Similar design to MF stompers.
8 tanks of gas later, Danners are my snowbike boots.
Downside is they offer less protection and ankle support than purpose built bike boots, but I don't see myself dropping 30' cornices and jumping doubles yet......or ever on my snowbike so not a problem for me.
