Boosted Yamaha question's

Just bought a Bender turbo RX-1. It has high and low boost. Would it be OK to run it on high boost with av gas?

My buddy just bought a Mountain Performance Supercharged Apex. Is there a high and low setting on this or does it always run pump gas?

Which one is faster? These are flat land sleds. We are running them against each other tomorrow and if his is faster unless I use high boost I would like to fill it with av gas. Alternatively I will buy a barrell of race fuel but won't be able to get that done right away.

Thanks

All depends on what your low and high boost settings are or if you have a head shim in it.With my Alpine turbo I can run up to 15 pounds of boost but I have the head shim done.Other wise I can run 12 pounds of boost on premium. As for the Super Charger there is no high or low boost. The only way to increase boost is to change the pulleys

Its 8 pounds on low. Haven't hit it on high yet as the gas in it was last year's gas. I caugfht on another htread that av gas is OK so I will fill it tomorrow with av gas and give her a rip. The Apex is running pump gas so can I assume it is considerably less powerful than the turbo on high?

You would be wise to siphon last years gas out of your tank before you go riding again. Suck out as much as you can and fill it with the avgas.

he will take you of the line but you should pull away after you catch him.if he is running pump gas he would be running 10lbs or less more than likely.boost for boost the turbo has more top end
