Boosted snowbike

the inefficiency of the cvt would easily be made up for by tuneing the engine to have a narrow very powerful powerband just like a sled. any time you grab a handful you have full power till the clutches come all the way out and your hauling ***. unlike a bike where you have to shift and your hp output is always fluctuating. and then add a turbo and you will maintain full boost

Sound like you are describing a Snowhawk=heavy, fuel thirsty, bulky, less manageable, less reliable, high maintenance. Sometimes less is more :)

not a snowhawk. which is just a basterized sled with one ski. a purpose build snowbike could be same weight as we currently have but have better positioning not be 12 f'n feet long and make 100hp

LOL , seriously ? If that is what you think than you have no idea what a Snow Hawk is .

I showed my better half these comments and she laughed . Pretty bad when a little woman rides something the boys complain about , that alone is classic . Her fanner has more ponies than a naturally aspirated 450 and a top end of 80 .

Here's an old one for ya , If you think you've got a one ski that can keep up with this than I would get a little more serious and open up the throttle a little more . Please do watch and feed back would be much appreciated , maybe I'm missing something ?

Nice vid, I saw a hawk vid a while back, dunno if promo video or what, but the guy was doing some absolutely insane maneuvering. Some of those turns were quite impressive in your vid. I can't wait to see where the one ski goes in the next decade.

It's hard being patient , I just wish this kit ride would end at times and a true one ski build from the ground up comes out .

that is exactly what i want. i just think the snowhawk had some size issues been more like a sled. a purposed built single ski built now knowing what a lighter bike can do would have so much more potential

You are correct , understanding the history of the machine explains why .

Boivan cut no costs or expense in designing the machine . It is built just as stout as a dirt bike in it's natural form .

Race bread design , it can be field stripped to the frame including the fuel tank with out spilling a drop and done without tools , great for preventative maintenance .

Yes I'm babbling but the point is and what probably in my mind will never happen is that when an assembly line turn key one ski is finally made it in no way will be as tough or as reliable as a Snow Hawk .

The majority of Hawk riders that I know have something else in common , they are the kid that can wreck an anvil and tired of working on broken sleds .

I really hope that FZ Yammy hit's a home run , to me the weight is not a factor .

I inject my two sense to push the one skis , I know what it takes I just don't have ability to build it .

The actual frame is behind the fork tree and the supporting aluminum in front is for the hood and belly pan . The frame is a solid sheet , a left and right side .

Just big egos :face-icon-small-hap , The few vids that I have taken where not worth down loading . I haven't been able to figure out how to vid those areas , the vids that you've seen of mine are uncut to show you that it doesn't take bits a pieces to show one a tunes length .

The areas I like usually begin by dropping what some would call drainages on mountain range areas and than working the cliffs up .

You know how you see all these videos of guys hucking cornices ? Those gullies/drainages are loaded full of them and you don't leave them until your ready to .

It's hard to enjoy when there are others watching and waiting from a distance . There are some pretty crazy sledders and when I do see them in areas like that they are very short lived and it's a lot easier for me to get unburied and stay in there than it is for them no matter how big of a sled they are .

There is a face I climbed once and the only way to it is to drop down into a bolder drainage and than the wall approaches at an angle and to make it even more difficult you have to cut a 45 immediately on the climb the other direction . One the way down all I could do was keep the skid side ways to slow me down like a skier . I look at it all the time and I doubt I'll ever climb it again .

I'll get a vid made of the steep stuff , been thinking about it for the last couple of seasons .
