Well, we don't have your mountains, and the hills we climb have them damn trees all over them, but, us flatlanders who only get to go out west once every couple of years, have Michigan's U.P. 300" snowfalls amounts to some great boondocking.
U.P. stands for Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is straight north of Wisconsin
and juts out into Lake Superior. Known for legendary Lake Effect snow some years. Every morning 6"'s to a foot of fresh to clean off the sleds sometimes. Also known for Yuppers and Pasties. Somebody else can explain that!!
I lived in negawnee( I think i spelled it right) for a few years when I was a kid, Just made pasties for dinner tonight. Pics look great, I love boondocking allmost more than cutting big sidehill's on Alaskas epic mountains.
Did a little of that myself this weekend. We came up with a good one for that third pick where JD is doing a little pruning. It's not boondocking, its prunedocking. You know you've been prunedocking when you have to clean the bark out of your hood after the ride.
Little different climbing up here. Picking your line is everything with the trees lining nearly every hill. We need a good 30" blast though as the backcountry is getting used up quick.
