im thinking of turbo on my m8 for next year but all i wont to do it just fill it up and ride no tincering or nothing just wondering if you can do so.

thanks michael

Your on the right track.
Mount the Boondocker box in an area where access is easy, you'll just need to make minor fueling adjustments. Very simple.

good luck with that. Not likely, at least not like a stock sled, make more power and there will always be things to watch for.....reeds, plugs, temps. But from what I have seen a M8 w/ a mild turbo setup is as close to pull and go as you will get with a turbo.

there's a lot of knowledge to getting a turbo of any flavor set up, and continuing to run well....then the frustration sets in....unless you ride with someone who is good at analyzing turbo "glitches", or are good at it yourself, do yourself a favor and stay with a good running na sled.....i've lots of friends who have been sucked in with the pump gas, no fuss, turbo sleds....all have been towed out a least once, put a top end on, (or bottom too).....most have had to figure out significant running issues with fuel boxes, sensors etc....so when you say you mostly want a gas and go sled, don't listen to the sales pitches, cause that's not what a turbo is.....

i have ran 3 turbo sleds this year, ther first was a 09m8 with bd pump gas turbo, 2nd was a 08 with bd race gas turbo, 3rd was a 08 dragon800 with pump gas bd turbo, with all of them if you wanted you could honestly put the box under the hood and forget about it, boondocker has their fuelling numbers very close to where you need to be, they are a little fat but still doesnt affect the performance drastically. the clutching that came with the kits was spot on also from bd, so as for answering your question yes you can just bolt on a BD pimp gas turbo and pull the rope and ride, all 3 my riding buddies with these turbos will attest to my statement.

i have 1300 miles on my bd pump gas tm8 and can honestly say I have had NO problems at all. No reeds, plugs, anything. Burandt has 3000 miles on his, no problems, bd pg is they way to go imo. It is the most fun sled ive ever had and probly one of the most reliable supprisingly, only one thing. . she likes the octane so you will need some extra fuel strapped on back!!!!!

Wow from turbo to a bolt on head, thats quite a span lil brotha. Stick with the original idea if yer looking for power and you want to learn to tinker.........

You won't see 15hp out of the RKT head, in fact you'll be lucky to see 15hp out of the porting and head.
I have the RKT head/port/torsion clutch, and an SLP single, boondocker box.
My buddy has a Boondocker pump gas turbo.
Both sleds run extremely well, but the turbo has more power, sees higher track speeds, and is pull the rope and ride.

so does the boondocker come with the numbers in it set for your elivation of is that something you have to do your self.

the bd box comes preprogrammed with the numbers in it and you dont have to change anything for elevation changes, automatically compensates itself.

1 more thing as long as you adjust the boost accordingly to elevation your clutching and stuff will be the same, you use the boost controller to do this, lower elevation close controller a bit to obtain desired boost and higher elevation open boost controller to achieve proper boost levels and so on.

let's hear how many miles people have and what problems they have run into. I know some might not think of some things as problems but if you went through a belt in 300 miles or maybe your fuel mileage is just crap, broken reeds, ect.... little to big problems. this info would surely help out alot of people that are wanted to make the jump to a turbo M.

Thanks guys

ive got almost 600 miles on my 09 m8 bd pumb gas and the onlyproblem i have had were strange boost spikes and leaning out that was caused by me having the settings on the bd box wrong, as for belts i havent blown one yet and fuel mileage isnt the greatest, seems like i normaly burn 2 - 3 gallons more then a stock m8 in a day , but all in all its a great setup.

I have 600 miles on my HCR BD pump gas turbo with no problems. Took about 1 hour to fine tune the numbers and it was ready to ride. And yes.....I did gas and go. Burns a little more fuel than others but thats expected when you never wanna stop for a candy bar. I'm gunna sell it and build another one just like it.
