boondockers control box

I have a 2006 900 with a slp pipe on it and it runs pig rich is there any one out there running a control box on there sled and do they work thanks

I run one to lean mine out a bit as well . If you have not checked Your TPS setting you should consider it this was a big factor on my sled as it was way off. In fact I have 2 sets of throtle bodies and both where of by a good bit!

The TPS is the throttle position sensor . Look in the links at the top of the 900 section there is everything you need to know to build your own tester and perform the setting. Its stupid easy! I did it!

BTW I would do this first before you buy the box!It might save you some $$$

check this thread for setting tps = throttle position sensor

you have to make a tool to do it but every 900 owner should have one. i check mine a couple times a year just to be safe.

we also carry a spare set of throttle bodies with us that is set ready to go in case we have a problem like i did 2 years ago. cost me a trip. and yes boxes work. i had to add one for my 975 kit to add fuel.

one thing to note it would be a good idea to get an air fuel gauge or egts if you are going to run a box you don't want to burn it down.

good luck

darn kreg you beat me to it and posted while i was typing :p

I just built a tester and set my tps earlier today. It was pretty easy with all the info I got off the TPS links as stated above^^^. My TPS was set correctly but the idle set screw was way off. My sled wouldn't idle and the reverse didn't work worth a poop so hopefully this will take care of that. When I tore mine apart I also found that the oiler cable was stuck wide open so I ordered an FBF cable to take care of that. Other than that I don't have any other suggestions, good luck.
