Boondocker turbo vs Silber turbo

I spent 3 years on Boondockers turbo and loved it. I am currently atop a different brand now but am seriously considering a Polaris snow check and want to hear from you guys who have owned both Silber and Boondockers turbo. Reliability with Polaris engine, ease of use, operation and main. Finally, how is the lag on initial throttle grip on Silber?

Thank you
AJ

Well, I don't own a Silber, but after riding with some for two days, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. The new kit Justin has with the Bullydog controller runs pretty sweet.

Thanks Bacon
Loved the BD but had a few glitches and had more lag than I cared for.
I am also wanting to try out the RTEK big bore as I've heard the bottom end through top end hits hard and is constant.

I like my Silber kit

I have never owned a BD kit but have rode with a few. They are strong running sleds. I have a 2011 pro with 2012 silber kit that has ran great for me. I just upgraded to the PCV on mine but have not rode it yet. I have seen a few of the new kits using the Bully Dog and they look clean and run well also. I think you will get lots of mine is better than yours on here, but just look at the features and decide what fits you the best. I like my kit and think the new ones look better than the one I own.

Good luck

It may be tough, but can you elaborate a bit on the Silber? Bottom end, big end? What turbo was on it? Ect...... Just from being around the site a long time I know you have been around about every mod on the planet. Your probably one of the few people I would trust to give a honest review.

This is for the new kit with Bullydog tuned ecu. The bottom is nice and crisp, doesn't seem to be any hiccups or bad spots. The top end probably doesn't pull as hard as other kits but it has nice power all the way through and is just nice rideable power. Great for boon docking and playing around. Probably not a chute slayer but it's only running 7-8 lbs of boost. Another bonus is you can't touch it or mess with the tuning, and the way it ran, I wouldn't want to mess with it. It almost makes me want to get a Poo just to run this kit. I honestly couldn't find an issue with anything about this setup.

With all the options available for BD thats a bit of a loaded question. If your gonna compare apples to apples you would have to compare BD's base kit since they would both be about same pricing.

With the base kit only real big difference is BD's controller with extra injectors compared to Silber's bullydog tuner with larger injectors.
Myself I like the benefits of extra injectors and being able to fine to the fuel map for YOUR sled on the mountain in seconds with out a laptop. The problem I see with the Bullydog is if its a bit fat on the bottom or map is lean or fat somewhere else what do you do? It would be a quick 20 second fix with the Boondocker controller.
I only talk for experience from my Impulse Nytro it ran fat on the bottom all the time ended up getting home and sending the ecm back for a new map numerous times.
JMO only thing I really don't like about the Silber otherwise pretty similar kits. For an extra $500 I would throw on an intercooler and be much further ahead though

You can still purchase the silber kit with the dobeck and aux fuel injectors... My turbo isn't running correctly and sure wished I had some fuel control at the moment...

We are working on a supplemental fuel box for guys like die hard poo who have a different turbo and for other guys that have different tracks and such.

I ran the 2863 with the bullydog last year and the map I had doesn't work as we'll at sea level as it did up here and we are working to get his running better.

I have no experience with Silber kits, have never scene them on the snow. I do own a BD kit and ride with at least 20 others that also run the BD kit. Yesterday was my first ride on my 2014 Pro, 2860 Tial kit. I put on 50 mountain miles yesterday and never opened a panel or touched the box. Running a max boost of 11.6 lbs on 100% Av 100LL fuel. Some guys were riding the same kit at 7.5 lbs on straight pump fuel and some ran 8 and 10 lbs with a few gallons of Av mixed in.

My sled hit hard and throttle response was instant. Riding wheelies with a 162X3 inch X3 puts a tickle in your pants. My hats off to the BD crew. They make an excellent kit and all I do is ride :).

Both current kits are getting really good and becoming more and more close to the ideal pull and ride turbo, my 2011 had the silber at 100 avgas/13 pounds....1360 miles with no issues...bottom end could have been better but top end (5000 up) insane good :face-icon-small-coo

We have 4 2014 bd kits in our group, 2863 tial air to air, we have 200-250 miles on them now, pull the rope and go. Bd numbers seem good the clutching is bang on. 5-7kft 7-10lbs boost running half 91 and 108. I think all the kits are getting dialed in regardless of who makes them. We debated between boost it and bd ended up with the bd because of the tial, tunnel exhaust much quieter, no added hassle of water to air plumbing.
