Boondocker Turbo For The Apex and Nytro...

1. What are your thoughts and opinions about them...

2. Does anybody have them on there Apex or Nytro?

3. Any Problems you have expieranced or heard of other people having?

4. Apex versus Nytro Turbos which do you think is better?

I am getting ready to puchase either a Apex or the Nytro but not Really sure which one I want yet...

Thanks to everbody taking the time out to give me your opinions, I really appreciate them all!

I have a Boondockers gt2860 turbo, no problems with the kit or anything. I switched to the attitude box and it runs cleaner and is easier to tune. I haven't been overly impressed with the Nytros as of yet. Others will disagree, but I like the Apex for the type of riding I do.

apex turbo

i just put on a boondocker gt 28 kit last month and just got back from a trip to idaho falls and the snowies. its on a 07 apex. once i adjusted the clutch this thing is awesome. i have been riding a cmx 800 for the past 4 years and this thing is way more fun. i just tore down my brothers 07 apex and am putting on the same turbo this weekend. once you ride a turbo apex i really dont know what else you would ever want. i have rode the dragon 800 turbo and the artic cat m8 turbo and they both run hard, but its hard to beat the reliability and performance of the apex four stroke.

1600+ miles on my Apex now, no issues that were not caused by me.
We are awaiting our Nytro kit, and hope to have it on in the next week..?

I have only rode Nytro's from other kit manufacturers, and they run exceptional.

I do like my Apex, but we will see here in the next couple weeks if I like it good enough to keep it, or buy a Nytro........

i got a 2860 on my apex with the pl box. I love it its bad azz. Ive had no problems with the kit it self just the air fuel gauge " innovate" I bought a aem and thats solved. The dealler that did my head shim set the timming wrong, I had a boost leak thats minor. That sled flat out rips with little lag. There is way less heat under the hood then then people think. The kit is cheap compared to some others. A freind has a mcx and his exhaust is cracked so no kit is is bullit proof no matter what you read on here, they all have there little things that can go wrong. I had help from good guys on here Carp, Vector good old Linc And Dustin from outlaw with little stuff and thanks guys!! I had it out yesterday and straight lined every hill:D 150 + km track speed with 12 pounds boost. I would get a bd again, if your from the states get it from Dustin @ outlaw or any turbo for that matter the guy is awsome he takes the time to explain things for the blind like myself being new with the turbos.

My BD kit is on an RX-1 motor so I don't have experience with the fuel control boxes. Have heard lots of guys with all different turbo kits complaining about them last year. The power and reliability is unbelievable. The only issues I have had is the intercooler was blowing off the carbs (have that fixed now:) ) and the innovate AFR gauge is a P.O.S.

The kit is fine if you want reverse you have to do some fab with the e brake cable the underhood heat is high you need to set up some vents and wrap all the exhaust the oil line is junk get a good one the boondocker box is weak the pl is much better to for the avarge joe to work with sled is loud compared to a alpine or powderlights kit. And dustin is a good guy to work with but he is very busy but when you get him he will give you his full attention I would get my stuff from him overall a good kit I sure it has improved since I got mine.I would buy again. the boost controller is junk. The AEM af gauge works well :D

I wrapped my header to the down pipe and I seen a sled on swap meet that had holes in the side panel. i did that to mine beside the turbo with a 1" hole saw, i think it looks cool and it keeps the heat down tons, and smaller holes top of the panel I found this works. Ive had this done since the start so i havnt seen all this heat that was expected. We found the reverse was easy to get working with the OEM stuff. The oil return line was junk, I dont know why they dont through steel bradded lines in the kit.I love the guys that bad mouth these sleds, They dont think they work in powder, there to heavy you cant go in the trees ect. ect. Then the look on their face when they see it go.something like this:eek:

I just bought a new nytro and I am shipping it of directly to boondocker for the install of the 28 turbo. I do have a empty spot in my enclosed trailer if any body needs a sled shipped...
