Forget the IC and put on a cold air intake.
I am about to pull the trigger on an 2011 m8 and put on a boondocker PG turbo. Is there ANY downside (lag, throttle response, etc....) to putting an intercooler on?
Thanks!
On straight 91 running a 3° timing key I run just under 11 lbs before maxxing out the injectors on a BD PG turbo. 8-10k elevation
The newest BD kits with the intercooler are the way to go.
Very good flow design. No more air box attached to your carbs. Its now a tubular design that really works well.
With the stock head and timing key You'll have excellent throttle response and stock reliability.
My PG kit on my '08 took about an hour to dial in. The race gas kit with IC on my '10 took about 12. The IC and race kit is completley worth it once it is tuned, but if your not willing to splurge for the extra octane I would just go straight PG no IC. They are still tons of fun and quicker to set up.
Getting bummed, I already ordered the inter cooler for the pg, I want to run around 7-8 boost. Dont care about top speed, I pretty much ride powder and trees.
