Boondocker EBC?????? - Dragon 800

It has been frustrating to say the least. Some including myself have dropped some serious money for our income bracket and have a sled that is collecting dust while the snow is filling the mtns. I believe that Justin(SnowJW) is and has done the best possible considering. Also as frustrated as I am with Boondocker, I am glad in a warped way that they are making sure the product is good to rip for the season. It appears that maybe the ball has been dropped a few times and there time frames got screwed. I have also noticed that some at Boondockers have not been entirely honest with the whole situation as I have gotten conflicting stories from them. I did appreciate when I got by there 'front lines' and heard actual reasons why and more realistic time frames. Boondocker take note on how far a honest full answer goes with people.Never met Justin but I will say that I will continue to do business with him. Always has been respectful on the phone, even recently when I am sure all he wants to do is scream at the continued same questions over and over.
"When is it coming? When is it coming? When is it coming?" has to wear the skin thin. I think he is/has gotten the short end of the stick being the middle man without all the facts/info put in his hands to be able to keep his customer base informed at all times. I think he has been working hard to build a business for the rider by the rider that has extremely fair pricing on products and has been more than generous with helpful no BS information on all kinds of products/set-ups, even the ones he doesn't carry.
I also hope this kit produces like all the hype has been built up to.
So when is my EBC really coming?:o

Well put! :beer;:beer;

Didn't this happen with Polaris on the 800 dragons? The people who snow checked them didn't get them until December/January. Maybe Boondocker should offer money back for every week or month it is not delivered by the date set for the snowcheck. I bet they would deliver on time.

this whole thing is confusing. I dropped my sled off to boondocker on nov 5.
the service manager told me that the sled would be done in about a week. I came out of the woods from a muley hunt and had a message that my sled was done. I went down to pick up my sled. When we where in the shop to get it, we discovered my sled was not done. That was on nov 14.
I still can't get a straignt answer on when my sled will be done.

Why did i get the call the sled was done? why was i told i could drop my sled off, if the parts were not finished? Why can't boondocker return phone calls. I paid for the turbo in full when picking up my sled. than we saw it wasn't done. I just don't understand why the company can't just tell us the whole truth, nothing but the truth, instead we get salesperson bs. Is pete not asking the boss the right questions or is the boss telling pete to not tell the truth. I understand that boondockers needs to put out a product that is not faulty. And i appreciate making it right. I don't appreciate being led on and not being given any factual answers. Besides next week.

I am sure the product will be awesome, but i am already kind of wondering if i will have my sled for xmas. I am riding the back up sled right now, so atleasti can ride.

i've never had the best of luck talking to pete, last year he told me i could run 12lbs of boost on straight pump gas. with a stock motor. this year i called down and ordered some new orings from him for my air box, get them go to put them in and they are all wrong, he must have sent me o-rings for a 2010 kit or something. as far as the ebc goes it should be worth the wait in the end

I went with a square O-Ring on the air box side and a thicker CAT O-Ring in the machined collar. Both worked better than stock. This year no O-Rings, fabbed up my own back yard invention, we'll see how it works. See Ya soon. EW

Still no stinking EBC, so much for being here on the 4th or as promised again today. Now shipping on Monday. It is a damn good thing BD is making the best/most complete kit out there or I would be spending my funds elsewhere, this is my 3rd kit from them and I know they will have it right, but you guys are pushing your luck for next time if this continues.

Ebc

The EBC is done, and it's sweet. I rode with Jared, Rocky and Justin today. We ran several of the EBC's and they rocked all day. The spool up on the EBC equipped sleds is awesome. Did a couple comparisons with a Boost Tee and the EBC was hands down better. The alt. compensation is awesome, you can watch it work on the display. Just set it in the parking lot and go ride. Jared gave me some numbers for my sled and after about 1/2 mile I quit watching the EGT's. This 2010 kit is sweet. I've been frustrated with the delays as well but once I finally got it all together the wait was worth it.

What did you us on the fan mounting bolts to keep them from wearing into cooling tubes?

TIA: Curt

Word of caution: I havent run this modified intercooler yet other than on the stand. First ride tomorrow. I'll post any issues if they happen. Have a good one. EW

Bighoe what was different about the numbers?
Thanks

Justin - CodeRed, I feel really bad for you. I would hate to be in your situation - the middleman. I will add that last year my kits came when they said it would. Of course they sent me the wrong ones (800 kit instead of 700 kit) but BD was very quick to take care of the problem.

I talked my best friend and next door neighbor into getting a kit this year and I must say that I've been embarassed. I found myself saying sorry to him for talking him into this kit. Promise after promise had been made and it got to the point where he'd believe it when he saw it. "2 weeks, 2 weeks, 2 weeks...." My friend is absolutly fit to be tied with these guys.

I personally love my kit and it rips but I'll think I'll stick with my boost t adjustment. I'm sure this EBC will be sweet, but I'll believe it when I see it.

On a positive note, I ordered a timbersled setup through Justin on Monday and the entire kit was to me by Friday! Awesome customer service by CODERED! Thanks Justin.

I'm sure BD will learn a huge lesson from this, IMO they probably should have waited a bit before introducing this EBC. Maybe jumped the gun a bit.

Mine was on a Cat so it may not apply to your sled but it was a little fat on the bottom He lowered the pressure on the lo boost by 2 and it cleaned it up quite a bit. We rode with 8 dragons and they all seemed to run great out of the box except for the hard starts. I hope Polaris gets that figured out for you guys b/c it seemed to be pretty annoying for those guys. The hard starts were not only happening on the turbos, there were two stock sleds in the group and they also seemed to be having similar issues.

so i would like to know were my ebc is as well if they are done when will i get it.and if they tested these things on the 2010 like they said they did then why dont they start right.you know flooding.

Just got a tracking number from SnowJW. I hear that SafetyBob is doing all she can (and then some, thanks!) to get the product moving along to the customers.
I was one of the first ones to check mine in march. I bet these things are moving in volumes this week.

They did test it on the Dragon, Rocky rides a dragon. The flooding isn't a Boondocker or Turbo problem, it's a Polaris problem. The 2010 programing is what is causing the hard start. There is a fix for it but last I heard Polaris is working on the issue. It wouldn't be smart for an aftermarket company to dump a bunch of money into making parts to fix a problem if Polaris is going to release a fix for it shortly after the aftermarket fixes it. It's a huge PITA but if you run the 2009 programing you will be fine.
