Bolt on power suggestions?

They are not magic guys!
If your mind says it's to good to be true... it probably is.
I rode with a straight line pipe last year, my poor slp pipe that the dyno says makes 7hp only performed as good or better, so... you can dyno stuff all day if you like but what really matters is how it works on the snow!

Some won't like this answer because there dyno sheet says different but sorry sometimes the truth hurts.:present:
Kinda what i figured.

Running SLP pipe into Diamond S Titanium muffler. Horsepower gain and a loss of nearly 20 lbs. Carls clutching which includes their helix. Highly recommended. I tried the pipe mod/PCV. It made nice power but it tripped the detonation detector at inopportune times. I took it off and put the SLP pipe on. No PCV, no detonation, run in the non ethanol mode all of the time. It is perfect. Take the horsepower gain and subtract the weight and you have a much snappier package.

That include a secondary spring?

Bolt on some nitrous. If you wanna run it at sea level, put on a system you can bypass down low. Even pipes down low are causing fits with Det etc...

Rich with Dynoport seems to really know his stuff and was a super nice guy and have his pipe coming. He was at the show and took time to talk with my dyno guy too. Joey at Bikeman also looks to have solid setup that is very complete to get the most hp. Joey was also very nice and took the time to explain his whole setup and ecu program flash. Looks like a head is the next obvious move.

I had detonation problems with the pipe mod/PCV even after trying several different maps. The SLP pipe did not have any and that was without a PCV. It is a simple system that works well. Some of the other pipes may make more horsepower on the dyno but getting a det code limp when you least want that to happen negates the higher dyno horsepower. A det code limp could mean a yard sale if you are in a precarious place when it happens.

If I have det or any other issues, I will let rich know. Joey at bikeman also said ask anybody on Facebook or the forum who has run his stage 1 kit and I will not hear of a complaint.

I should also state that this is not a pipe shootout or something like that. i do not plan on posting a bunch of dyno sheets and results. I do not sell hard parts and this is for my personal sled and another sled I ride with. My dyno guy also will not post anything. He finds setups that work and sells locally--he is pretty well known in this area for real power and does not wanna piss companies off with actual results. He makes his money tuning and setting up sleds.

A pipe shootout at dyno tech was done last week and those results can be seen on Facebook. I have ridden with Caputo, but have nothing to do with the shootout or dyno numbers.

I will most likely post my final setup and dyno sheet.

Really hard to answer your question as pretty much everything these days are "BOLT ON". Maybe you should tell us what numbers your expecting or want to see and we can all guess on what it's gonna take to hit your expected numbers! Seems like a lot more fun this way!

I would bet that for a true 20 HP gain your gonna be into a porting head and pipe of some sort ballpark. No engine work I'm betting you will be lucky to see 10 HP if your dyno guy is non biased despite some of the claims. Keep us updated this will be interesting! Also would like to see the torque gains as everyone kinda gets wrapped up in the HP numbers.

15 to 20hp would be great.

20hp without cracking the motor will require a Silber or sidekick.

A real 20 hp gain is hard to achieve without a big bore or turbo in my experience. After having several pipe kits, porting, heads, reeds, etc on several different sleds I have come to the conclusion that the only thing I have ever bolted on that made me react like "holy sh*t that added some ponies" is boost!

Both of which can be bolted right on :face-icon-small-ton

Turbo are good for elevation over 4000 feet. Because 0-3000 for don't broke the engin 2-3 psi maximum and the engine don't take 7 psi at 0-2000 !!

That's wrong. Many people including myself ride turbos with higher boost levels at altitudes lower then 4000ft.
