BOISE - WHERE TO RIDE?

A couple of us will be in Boise for 1 day of business on a Thursday in mid to late January, traveling from Salt Lake City. We plan on bringing the sleds and getting in some riding Fri and Sat, returning to SLC on Sunday. We ride Island Park, Star Valley and Bear Lake area in Idaho and most all places in Utah, but have never been to the Boise area. We are no longer riding the steep stuff, no highmarking, just lots of hills, boondocking, carving, etc. Where would you recommend that we go? Stay in Boise or lodging elsewhere after business on Thursday? Thanks in advance for the info and help.

Contact Snowduck in Boise. He could help you out in the Boise area or Mastercraft if you're interested in heading up to McCall area.

They should be able to hook you up or maybe even play guide for a day.

riding areas

Idaho city is 45 min north of boise good area but kinda limited, owyhees 115 min from boise is great for boondockin and a few climbs mccall, cougar mtn, council mtn, and west mtn are all within a hour hour and a half from boise, but they all need the snow pack to come soon or its slim pickins, right now were pretty much idle until somthin hits! Good luck pm me if u want more details! happy sleddin!

By late Jan almost everything in the SW aspect is rocking. (we sure hope) For what you described if you were my customer I'd take you to see Bear Valley out of Lowman. If we got miracle snow Cat Creek 20 minutes north of the interstate by Mountain Home can be the closest and sometimes the best of the best. It's been years since it was amazing but once in a blue moon that place is heaven. (and close) Kind of the same can be said for Reynolds Creek out of Nampa and up into the Silver City area. All dependent on low alt snow. If we get snow there are twenty good choices if we don't you pretty much have to go to McCall.

Boise area riding

I am looking for some places to ride near Boise. I am brand new to this area and have no idea where to ride. I came from Pocatello so not too far away. Truthfully I don't know where to even point my truck to find them. Does it ever snow on this side of the state? I have put three or four hours on the new sled so far this season but riding it in the garage just isn't fun anymore :face-icon-small-win Was wondering if anybody going out wouldn't mind a tag along or two just to learn some areas and hopefully meet a couple new riding buddies.

It's all good! Thanks for the info fellas. We all need snow, I just hope that we are not saying this in mid Jan!
