OMG... best snow in ten years! If you sat on your butt today and stayed home.. man-o-man you missed a "boys day" for riding (meaning it was tough going... snowing like crazy, can't see, and LOTS OF POWDER!!).. Got to hand it to the Mt. Misery Snowmobile club.. with 12+ inches snow and they still got those short tracks in there with a trailer to cook food.. had to go on a rescue of the group though, not a day for TWO UP and short track.. but HEY, the driver got the sled within a mile of the Misery cabin when the sled nosed into a drift hole...

Trails were all groomed but with the 12" + new snow it was a stuck fest off the trail (which is where you want to be anyway)... carved up the fields and Janet led the way on her REV to punch through this morning to the cabin from the Cloverland side... drifts were way sic

Riding in areas we havn't rode in years (because of low snow).. riding below Big Butte... way cool.

Karl, Rob... you should have been here...

Rub it in! I could not have got the trailer there in one piece if had wanted to. The roads flat suck up here. What day are we going to Dayton next weekend???

PS slipped on a gate the morning doing the wife's barn chores and bruised my A$$ so bad almost did not make it back to the house.

Hopefully the pig will be okay.. but hey, the Polaris is a stand up sled, so you should be good to go! How-about Saturday for Dayton, what time we meet and where?

Lets shoot for 9am at the Dodge intersection or 9:30 at the PDQ in Dayton???

The wedge chassis was definitely a sit down. Mine is just special with a serious case of ape hangers. The pig is all stock don't you know!!!:D

Let me know.

You guys should be up for a good time. I will be out today, Wednesday, and Friday on the Mountains in Dayton. I will be riding down low today.

12 new inches made for tuff going? Rode sat out of rose springs and there wasn't much soft anywhere left. Sure was snowing hard @ Misery when we headed out. New it would be good sun. D. tailbone, Ray's ridge, all go anywhere snow on sat.

Rode Saturday too.. boring... Sunday at least a foot+ of new and blown in everywhere... yea, jumping off the road was a gas.. seven feet at the marker

Hi Plum, Are you the family of past drag racers on the O.S.R. Circuit? Looks like now you hill climb race? Do you ride an XP now? If yes, how do you like it? The warm up shelter was standing room only sat @ 12:30!!! Was hoping that was the day there would be burgers, but sounds like I missed it. John

OSRC.. wow that was a long time ago, yep did drags and snocross with them... now do a little hill climb and trying to get into asphalt racing with the NHRA.

Burgers are on Sunday (except Super Bowl weekend).. yes, riding the XP and now that Mac's and I worked out a few bugs, it will rank right up there with my Doo favorites

I was an OSRC member in the mid 90's, raced pro ovals on XCR's 440sp and 600's. Loved it but what alot of work maintaining two sleds and racing 5 classes. Got burned out and sick of races being cancelled due to warm weather. Do you ever unload at Pataha hill and ride into the blues that route? Been wanting to try that sometime.

Never did the ovals.. snocross (MXZX 440s) burned me out because all the prep and EVERYWEEK repairs.. ran two snocross sleds.. burned out on grass drags too, too much dirt and constant work on the track and traction... asphalt is a lot better (and cleaner). Never gone the route through Iron Springs.

Lewiston Tribune is saying 1-2 feet tonight.. can't wait for Saturday

TEN FEET AT THE MARKER!!! seven feet last weekend.. trails are trashed so for you trail riders.. not a good weekend... but for those that like to carve it up..and boondock... yahoo! Snowing hard when we came out so Sunday should be good too... most are staying above the road when climbing as it is a challenge to go anywhere.. our group of 3 (146 XP, 162 M7, and a 144 REV) we lost count how many times we got stuck...and how many times we stopped to help other people get unstucked... yea the snow was THAT GOOD! BTW parking is five miles from the National Forest border.. at the Back Road.. Plowing ends at Anderson Ranch.

Some local cross country skiers (2 adults, 5 kids, and a dog) got in over their heads heading for Wenatchee Guard Station... five hours got them to the parking lot with weather socking in hard.. several of us snowmobiliers hauled the group and equipment back down to their car.. the trip was for one of the kids birthdays.. but he said it was "his best" because he got to drive a snowmobile! Then they were warming up in our trailer and they learned Janet was a "racer"... needed autographs and promo pictures.. one of the kids said they were taking the pictures to school for "show and tell"... kids were 6-10 years old.. it was cool

had a lot of fun.

Sunday not as good Saturday.. found a couple of fields that were not carved up (now they are)... snow is settling so some of the deep drainages you can go into without a lot of trouble getting out.... need more snow... a lot of freezing fog made it tough to see...

i went up through cloverland wednesday friday and saturday.. snow was insane at least 3 feet of powder.. AT LEAST! there was 11 feet at teh stake by the mt. misery warm up cabin. Made for a good time

I work with the guy that was skiing with the kids. I warned him on Friday what he was getting into. :)

He is a great guy and like you said was out just for the kids.

He asked me today to get your address if I could. He and the kids want to send you a thank you card for helping out.

It is very nice to see both the sledders and the skiers working together. And like you said his boys were very excited to see you and Janet there. They loved the snowmobile rides.

Send me a pm with your address and I will pass it on.

Thunder

The Bucket Run is Canceled!!!!

Just got off the phone with Linda. These is too much snow to get to the parking lots safely. Stay tuned it will be rescheduled for sometime in March.

Sincerely,
The owner of the chronically ill pig!
