BLUE MOUNTAINS 2011-2012 Part Two

Fear the Cat!

Fear the Cat Mr. Plumnuts! :boxing: The age old question of Cat or Etec will be settled on the hill Sunday in Dayton.

ride report 2/26/12

Thanks Bleu... for showing us around... as always the Dayton group knows how to party.. fed us burgers and let us track up their snow... cool.

The E-Tech is still cutting its teeth and suspension is not 100%... CB 8 Cat rocked all day:rockon:

If you stayed home... you missed a GREAT DAY!!!!

Today was the best day of the season period.

Thanks Blue for giving us the tour.

I have to admit I was having flashbacks. The last time that much wrenching occurred on a hill I was still going by the name of Ultrapig. I mean he turned so many wrenches that he hooked back up the gay bar because there was nothing left to adjust.:crutch:

And for the record I found no hoars.

Wow I need some sleep.

I think I found some of your tracks in the sunshine today!! :)

Missing person...Possibly in the Blues

Okay seriously... if this kid is in the Blue Mountains the outcome will probably be poor as it has been ten days. Anyway... keep an eye out and if you see the vehicle give the sheriff a call... if you don't want to get involved please just PM me and I will pass the information on... this kid is a grandson of someone we work with... thanks for any help Mike and Janet

Ride Report 3/3/12

GOOD: Cloverland park is plowed, trails are groomed, hamburgers at Misery are GREAT, and there is nearly 7 feet at the Misery snow marker.

BAD: Warm... snow is wet even at 6000 feet... not the snow of last weekend :face-icon-small-con

Ride Report 3/10/12

Blue sky and all trails groomed (like a freeway!)... great day for grand kids and for showing around a flat lander the mountains...... Marker shows 6 feet. Snow is melting quickly... hopefully the cold front coming tonight will add some new white stuff...

Ride Report 3/17/12

Rode out of Rose today... road is plowed and the park is cleared... but there are areas it is pretty muddy. Trails are groomed.

Below 5500 feet the snow is going quickly... for those that stayed home to watch one ball sports... bummer you missed... 7 feet of snow at the marker, sunshine, and 4-5 inches of powder on top of the base...get this... 2:30 PM and we dropped into Ray's Ridge... and it was completely UNTRACKED!!! it was a GREAT DAY!!!!:peace:

Photos
1) Rescue of downed Polaris... bottom of Ray's ridge
2) Nick taking a break... overlook of Rays
3) Chicks riding Doos
4) Overlook at Rays

The good stuff: Sunshine, groomed trails, and great burgers at the cabin

The bad: Yea there is more snow (8 feet at the marker) but it is heavy and we were having a stuck fest and I WON!!

Went on a rescue of a Cat, Doos, and a Yammi down off Junior (others call it he11 hole two)… anyway… the Doos, one starter clutch TU, one with a broken brake line… they got out fine, the Cat got out its own too… But then there was the Yamaha Turbo… seems the front swing arm broke and derailed the track. We McGivered the swing arm with wire and straps and got the track back on… and then after a while got the sled fired up, adjusted the track… and it drove out of the canyon!!!

Photo 1... my third stuck in 15 minutes... Thanks John for the rescue (those sleds with "hair dryers" sure work well!)
Photo 2 ... down in Junior.
Photos 3... Between five of us we had enough tools, wire, straps, duct tape, and bubble gum to put the Yamaha back togther
Photo 4... Bud climbing out of the canyon
Photo 5.. .the BEST as the Yamaha goes out on its own power

and coming out of the canyon one of the nicest guys... Smitty ! video below

Ride Report 5/20/12

Rode out of Walla Walla...

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i129/plumnuts/janetandtruck.jpg

best run 6.17 seconds in the 1/8 mile... 114 MPH... all motor, no bottle or blower (this one is a Crank Shop 809 triple)

This one is also Janet riding a Union Bay Racing 800, best 6.4 at a little over the century mark in speed, again no blower or bottle... should run around the 6 O mark when it gets the bored carbs on it (currently trying to breathe through stock rack carbs)

me on the Crank Shop sled.. and for those that know NHRA rules... yep next week we have to get licensed as we are going too fast on the strip (and yes the Henry J car left first as I was faster)
