Snopark

Will the Snopark at Bluewood(Touchet Corral) be plowed for parking in the morning? Is there anyway to find out for sure other than making the drive?
Thanks
JKF

road bluewood today

parking lot was plowed but had an inversion last night so the snow was mashed potaoes. go west if you want powder!!

That inversion wasn't just thursday night it was all thursday. We were heading to bluewood and decided just cruise around up above Waitsburg near my buddies property (Hogseye or something like that) and it pretty much rained on us the whole time we were out. It was fun cause it was our first time out this season, but not the most ideal weather. Got back down to the truck and we were covered in ice battle armor.

First off… special thanks to Smitty and crew for the rescue today out of the s__ hole. I would (actually the sled) would still be there if they had not come to the rescue… BETTER THAN AAA!!!!

We rode out of Rose (NicBro, NicBro son-in-law, daughter, and me). Down low the snow was wet and not very good. At about 55-5700 feet the snow was pretty good... a little powder and generally a lot of fun. When the wind blew it was strong. Light snow all day. A zillion riders on the mountain; the groomer groomed to Misery cabin and then I guess broke down. I heard the trails on the Cloverland side are rough.

Snow is at 5.5 feet at the marker. Hamburgers are $6 at the cabin… support the snowmobile club.

Now back to the rescue. We had been climbing the hillclimb (over by Diamond Peak), all over the Troy road and it was pretty easy. We had been riding and decided to go out to the S___ hole and Brian and I decided to go down into the untracked drainage. Soon as we dropped over I knew we were in trouble. My Simmons skis would break through a crust and actually trap the skis and stop the sled from going downhill. The stucks for both of us started. Brian got further down the hill and got his sled turned around and pointed out. He made several runs at the hill and was not making it even when poaching his line. We had a conference as we had been in the hole for an hour now. We decided if one of us got out send NickBro and daughter to the cabin and maybe get some help. Brian made another run and broke over the top with his Dragon. I made several more runs at the top but either got stuck or had to eyebrow out. It was now getting late and I had about 40 minutes of daylight left. I got my sled out from a bad stuck and I realized I was exhausted. I was now making errors on climbing and little things were making me screw up. I rode ½ back down and started figuring out the next plan. I finally decided to make one more run at the hill and if not successful walk out to the top. CRAP!

About that time the cavalry, led by Smitty showed up and started building me a freeway out… but I was done. Several more runs and one more bad stuck and I turned the sled over to Smitty to ride out. He too got stuck but further up the hill and with Smitty and company they put the sled back on the level and with a ski pull I was out. I then waited at top as everyone got out (yea some of the cavalry got stuck too). Main message, I really appreciated the help that Smitty and all of the other snowmobilers that came to help... very much appreciated.

I was amazed at the E-tec and Pro X sleds... I am sold… come next year I will have a new sled as on those sleds they went E V E R Y W H E R E!!!

Blue Mountains S_ _ _ Hole Stuck

Reading Plum Nuts tale of being stuck is only part of the story. Concerns of looming darkness, wind and snow and and my son-in-law not making it out were becoming real. first relief was Brian making it out and the second was hearing the cavalry coming to the rescue.

Had I gone in to help them, the rescuer would have become the victim.

well the lost were found yesterday... male and female twenty something got stuck in what was probably a truck. A logger found them (alive) near Willow Creek... I guess a good reason to have a SPOT

Ride Report 1/28

Still a little less than six feet of snow at the marker. On the Cloverland side the park and road to it are plowed (watch the ice on the hill!). Looks like the groomer worked on the Garfield County side and got as far East just past the Wenatchee Guard Station. Road from the Cloverland park to the groomed road is pretty rough.

Snow is concrete with 4-6 inches of powder on top. At the hillclimb it was easy to run over the top (A, B, and C runs). Even the s---hole was not a challenge.

Rode a 2012 E-tech today, man it is like cheating!:face-icon-small-ton Mine will be here sometime this coming week.

Don't forget hamburgers at the Mt. Misery warm up cabin. Also a lot of people on the hill so watch the intersections. Also remember if you bring in a can.. PACK IT OUT!

If you knew where to go there was enough snow to get stuck going down hill Janet)... and there were a few areas... untracked

I don't know what Mac's is selling, but after Mike complained to Janet about how he is sick and tired of it being so short she sent him to Mac's and now he is bragging about how long and wide it is. I thought you need pills to get those type of results.:hail:

No more excuses.

I skipped the Bucket Run for the chance to go to Priest on a Blue Bird day. It was awesome! We (Bruce and my brother Craig) pulled some great lines but maybe none better then the one in the picture that I pulled. The picture is poor and was taken from over a mile away. The orange line is my line.

The hills at Priest are BIG!

Bucket Run

Cool pull CB 8. :face-icon-small-coo

Yesterday was the Mt Misery Snowmobile Club's "bucket run"... grooming was excellent (btw WRITE your state senator/representative as the democrats are eyeing stealing the funds to pay for other BS)... anyway, great day, blue sky, and GREAT FOOD (and Linda's famous chili!!!).

It was a grandkid day for us, as Morgan rode the 340 Yamaha (1980 version) and did great! Lots of kids riding sleds...cool to see! Nickbro and I got away for a little while to put miles on the new Doo... the new E-Tek is wild! Even though the break in computer program kept the engine from WOT for more than a few seconds... it took on the A and B runs of the hillclimb over and over again... what I like: Fit and finish much improved; Factory clutching is spot on; STORAGE!; Suspension/track really works; Low fuel/oil use; Fuel injection; What was less then good: No recoil start; Muffler weighs a TON; Side hilling (better than my 08 but the new sled's gay bar was still hooked up)...

I think when the sled is broke in it would pull the Priest Lake line CB 8 did... WITH CB 8's sled in tow:shocked:

Are you telling me that they put a real bumper on this sled. Because your old XP couldn't pull the Snoscot out.:ballchain:

Here is one from the bottom but it just doesn't do it juctice.

It is spelled…“justice” anyway went on the super bowl ride just because we figured we would get home by the 4th quarter… Smitty (on a stock Doo) put tracks on the front of the face… wow he carries his in a wheelbarrow!

Blue sky… everything is pretty tracked up… put more easy miles on the new XP (see videos)…. Heading out we ran across a lone young rider… checking on him a friend was “down in a hole and his dad went to help him” Oh crap… Headed down and see what we could do… seems a Pro RMK got down in a ravine and could not get back out. Well drove the Doo down to about 40-50 feet above where he was stuck, a little digging, a couple of ski pulls, and with three of us…and out the Polaris came (always a good sign). BUT, have to have the photos of shame…

Ride Report 2/12/12

we need snow. Rode out of Cloverland... trails are groomed and really pretty good riding for short tracks and taking the kids. Until you get to 6000 feet it is frozen in the AM and softer in the PM. Blue skies and as always great burgers at the cabin. Had fun with CB 8's family and the "turbo Sno Scoot"... really a lot of fun watching CB 8's girls riding...

Escaped to Priest Lake this weekend… Saturday was not very good as the ceiling was low, flat light, fog… and almost anything in the open gave visual clues of SLIDE!

Sunday rode the Lost lake area in a lot of fresh untracked powder… was a stuck fest.. with the Doos and a Snow Horse at times going nowhere. Both the Mrs. and I rode the KTM powered Snow Horse.. wow I think it will side hill just about anything!

Today rode the Belly bowl but still stayed off the big hills as our dig still showed an unstable hoar… so played in the trees, no one else in there… again a LOT of POWDER… a couple of photographs from the long weekend… All in all a great weekend riding with friends (CB 8 on Saturday) and Gary and Peggy… only downside was the wife was playing Rickie Racer and blew out and already weak shock.. going big over a Kelly hump… oh well..

first pic: Janet riding a Snow Horse
second pic: Janet dropping in to an untracked area
Third pic: Janet and me pushin snow
fourth pic: Tree wells suck
fifth pic: no not stuck.. just that much snow
six: laid down snow horse
