Estimates are increasing

3” at the house overnight at 6500ft. they were predicting little accumulation until later today because of the warm ground temps.
the brunt of the storm is supposed to come later today

kirkwood reports 21” over the last 2 days. we are gonna head out to red lake today to check it out :)

I think you be getting some more snow Sun-TUES ... so says the infamous forecasting models

What a strange little storm, haha

I think the 80 is closed around BOREAL ... satellite VERY INTENSE storm cells hitting the area ...

At least the CALTRANS cameras showing a white out at CASTKLE PEAK CAMERA

YEP 100 miles each way and its snow flurries ... YET the moisture has been traveling in similar straight path from HAwaii ... right into IDAHO

Strange but who cares ... its snow !

kirkwood area will have 4+ feet of fresh snow.. not accounting up sloping or wind blown.. it's cold snow too... looks like another 2+ feet possible by tuesday. there will be plenty of snow.

best powder day of the season by far.. ski resort in kirkwood reported 41 inches so far for storm totals 56+ boreal/ sugar bowl area. found a lot of deep pockets out there. Waist to Chest deep powder.Plenty of up sloping with this storm and lots of wind. headed to Castle peak on Wedsnesday. The crew last sunday said the snow was good still.. be even better now I guess. Get out and ride well ya can I guess... Snow above 8000 is awesome. Happy marks fella's.. My bad your right too 7800 is base.. my gps mark is at 8200.. climbs quick out there

kirkwood reports 13-17” overnight. i got 7” here at the house. today should be a great day...

castle peak area was amazing.. plenty of over the hood powder. Huge wind blown hips. Just letting people know to be careful heading out that way.. The main trail people cut to get out there is getting sketchy. you may drop down in some things you can not get out of with out a few runs at it. Be prepared to make your own trails and lines getting out. depending on time of day the already cut tracks get slippery and rutted. Still tons of snow out there to be had.. I'll be out that way again over the weekend. hoping a few face's get a little more set-up for some big spring climbs
