Blue Lake Dec 4 Rip off

We where sledding @ Blue Lake on Dec 4 and came across a few individuals retreiving a sled with a track ripped and jammed tripled over in the drivers. The sled had apparently been there for 3 weeks.(and no one had stolen anything off it)
Asked if they needed help?
They said all the could use was some rope, so with that we lent them or groups rope. They asked where we where staying so they could return it. Believing we would see it's return we continued to ride for the day.
As usual the rope was never returned, no good deed goes unpunished. So if you Guys from Red Deer area read this please hold your head in shame. It's hard to believe in other's when there people like you out there.

I like to think the best of people......you must too since you were kind enough to lend out the rope.

Maybe something out of their control prevented them from meeting up with you in time?

So your out 20$......you stacked up more than that in karma points and you got to help someone out....sounds like a pretty cheap deal to me.

The cost of the rope is not the issue it is the principle, and they had 3 days to return the rope.

I'm with him on this. Your out a rope, no biggie.

But why did your group only have 1 rope?

Stolen rope

I agree with Wildreaper...sure its great to be able to help out....maybe they just forgot thou....easily done but I know if I were ever stuck and someone helped me out ....you tend not to forget that. I'd be bumnmed out as well...its not the 20 dollar rope but the fact they never got it back....you have a right to be miffed....you'll second guess helping someone next time and that could very well end up being someone who may think you are making a big issue out of a 20 dollar rope...then maybe some poeple will understand the importance of returning what you borrowed. Not to mention tht now you have to go out a buy another one....I was brought up that if you borrow it ...you return it...if you don't THAT IS KIND OF LIKE STEALING IN MY MIND! Just my 2 cents..

Sucks that you lost your rope but I got a story that might help ya believe in people. Blue Lake Nov 28 one of our trucks slid off the road at the 8KM mark Im sure some of you seen this as it happened early morning around the 8KM mark and about 30 sleds went by during the recovery process. Anyway a few guys on a sled trip from Edmonton helped us shovel the the truck for almost two hours and even brought out their own tow rope and used their truck to help pull our almost totally lost truck up the bank (not before getting their truck stuck three or four times). These guys wanted nothing in return and just said that they hoped if they were in the same position someday somebody would help them.
