blown out head o-ring?

i have a 2011 pro with a 2013 silber kit.....it freakin rips. i just had a new top end put in and first ride i noticed my coolant was foamy in the res. i forgot to bleed the cooling system after i installed the new cooling line so i figured there was air in the system. bled the system and went for ride no. 2 and had coolant in the belly pan and foamy coolant again. popped the cap and there was pressure in the bottle. started it with the cap on and there was a lot of turbulance in the bottle before the thermostat opened. do i have a blow o ring in the head? tomorrow ill be re-torquring the head and doing a compression test.

Is the coolant nice and clean? Turbulent flow through the bottle doesn't necessarily mean blown o-ring. If it is a blown o-ring the coolant usually gets discolored pretty quickly (dirty).

It's clean, just pukes out a little every now and then. When ya open the cap pressure releases

Had this on an OVS setup once with power addiction head and it ended up the head got warped. Orings fine....head just wasn't sealing right but it sounds like you are setup with a new top end??????

Strange with a new top end......mine would always puke just a little when first started and while running you could see air bubbles running thru the coolant bottle and the system would get pressurized. Maybe oring got squeezed a little with new top end assemble?????? No signs of weeping coolant around the monoblock?

No signs of leaks, just bubbles in the coolant and pisses out some coolant every once in a while. Hopefully I didn't lift the head and warp it.

Hopefully not.....you would think seeing that it was during the first ride after new top end that it would be something that happened during assembly. Have you had a chance to re torque and test yet?

not yet, i wont be able to until maby this weekend.

Do you just have it too full? When the coolant gets hot, it expands and maybe you have it too full and it just relieving the excess? And it is normal for the system to pressure up some. I think the cap is set at 13 psi... And turbulent flow is normal when the thermostat opens (around 125*). Usually you will be loosing coolant when you have a blown o-ring or like others have stated, a discolored coolant from combustion contaminants.

re-torqued the head. three bolts next to each other turned about 1/8-1/4 of a turn so im pretty sure the oring is shot. started it, let it warm up, made one pass in the back lot, temp was 128* and it was foaming the coolant and had coolant puking out the over flow line. time to order up a new set or seals and replace and see if that fixed it.

sounds like your heading down the right road....hopefully just the orings.....give an update when you can.
