Blown Belts

I have a 04 800 vertical escape. Pretty much stock except for can, air box, and reeds. I've blown two belts in the last 100 miles or so, what do I need to look for or check out? These are ultimax belts I've always had great luck with them.

Alignment & offset would be my first checks.

Have you had this sled for a while, w/ no issues until now?

What situations lead to blowing them? Do the clutches get super hot?

Bought it new. Clutches don't seem very hot. I never had good luck with Polaris belts but after I switched to Ultimax the problem was gone. Both have went when sled is under full throttle.

Check your left front engine mount. Check the pto side engine strap.

Check your motor mounts, torque / push arm or what ever that thing is called with the rubber washer on the end of a bolt on the pto side also check your clutch alignment and clutches ( springs, weights and rollers). It sounds like your motor is flexing and taking your clutches out of alignment.

As they said above mount for sure, be suprised if not.

Think I figured it out guys. The mag side motor mount bolt that bolts into the bulkhead was missing. I'm guessing that was the problem. Thanks for all your info.
