Blown 2 QD Belts

shaft runout

It would stand to reason that a wobble on the shaft would cause an issue with the belt life, but how much wobble is too much? .010" .005"?? I would like to know how many people have checked the runout vs. how many people have had belt issues to see if there is a connection. One thing CRASH4 failed to mention is that his PRO has yet to be ridden on the snow. Only been ridden from the dealer shop to trailer and from trailer to garage, so any shaft runout is from the factory and not from drive shaft flex or hitting stumps etc. It has the clamp installed, could the clamp put enough force on the stub end of shaft to cause a little deflection??

I was planning on 2014 rather than my 1100t, but how the hell Polaris can you expect perspective buyers to have any faith when the reliability of these sleds is soooo poor. Where to start, motor, drive shaft, qd belts, my god.

checked mine brand new, visible runout on the lower pulley.....like this way from the factory. Not hitting stumps. simply put, this is Polaris quality (lack of).

My sled now has a little over 200 miles, not a single problem. It 's been awesome! Next to no break-in. Driveshaft collar installed by dealer after 20 miles. My lower quick drive sprocket does have visible run out, but belt looks great. Also have not noticed any excessive heat from quick drive. I am running an HPS silencer. Which gives a lot of space between it and the belt. I don't understand why some people are having problems. I've talked to a lot of other '13 Pro owners up on the mountain and have yet to find anyone who's had a problem.

This is what I was saying also, cause I had 530 miles and belt looked like new then K- Bang all but 4 or 5 cogs are gone and I'm trying to keep the sled from rolling done the hill. I also broke the belt in. Not good!!
