I'm looking for a place to take the family on Saturday. The girls have new sleds and are ready to ride:D

How's Blewett coming along? Haney Meadow??

we drove over yesterday. not alot of snow maybe 18" .but there were tacks at the top someone was riding. the medow maybe ok for the kids. the people i saw down below riding beside the hiway where digging dirt

Hey AJ,
Spoke with Big Bob from Wenatchee who lives on Along Blewitt Hiway.

he said it isnt worth even going up the road yet. He said Harts was pretty good other than poor vis and Witch freezing temps. Clockum poor as well. You may want to think about Lake Wenatchee for the young uns..lots of roads and flater off trail areas. If the temps warm up that area is the first to get crappy with the low elevations.

Hey thanks guys-

I guess maybe I'll take another look at Fish Lake. I gotta get these sleds on the snow and Baker just isn't ready yet either.

I'm not needing much more than a road ride with the kids at this point.

Haha, we were the ones next to the old blewitt cutoff on x-mas day. Riding was ok for the shakedown run. Lots of pow with no base= rookie riders stuck to the dirt... otherwise good time with the fam.

AJ - Blue Lake has gotten a lot of snow this year and is in the best shape of anywhere. Randy was grooming today when we were coming down.

New to area, Here for Christmas from Idaho, where is Blue Lake?

Blue lake is accessed from the Schriebers Meadow snopark at south Mt. Baker. When you leave the parking lot and head up road 12, you come to a junction or "Y". Road 13 to the right continues on to Schriebers Meadow and if you stay on 12 to the left, you end up at Blue Lake. There are links with directions and conditions at http://www.northwestglaciercruisers.com

I rode Blewitt yesterday with two family members (newbees) and it was just ok. Wasn't enough snow but they had a good time. Only hit dirt once or twice. Didn't make it to Haney because of the high avy danger and I didn't want to chance it across that big slope just before the "Y" to Haney. There's plenty of riding on the lower roads.
AJ, the little sled looks awesome. have fun and keep them safe and warm. Never too young to teach them about avy terrain and how to use the beacons.

See ya on the hill (or at the club meeting).
