Bittersweet Weekend

I had a bittersweet weekend. First off the snow was AMAZING!! It finally looks like winter in Utah! I headed up Swan Flats and no one had been there for this whole storm. I had been riding for about 20 miles or so in 4 feet of powder when clunk. Sled died. Tore into it yesterday and found that my lower connecting rod bearing on the mag side went. Got the motor out now I just need to get the crank rebuilt. Looks like I'm out for a while. Just my luck, right when the snow is getting good. :face-icon-small-sad:
Here are a few pics and short vid of the day before disaster happened.

I hear ya about the bitter sweet weekend. Ours was fun but many problems trying to keep us away.

First, my truck alternator went out heading up Parley's canyon. Luckily I was able to turn it around and make it back to the Dan's parking lot on Wasatch Drive. Pulled in the lot, faced it downhill and it died. Whoo that was close. So my friend went and got my dads truck to take up there. so we got away 2 hours later then we wanted.

Second, my friend's sled breaks down less then 3 minutes into the ride. Had to tow him back to the trailer and send him home. :face-icon-small-sad

Third, we had another sled quit working about an hour and a half into the ride. We sent him home early as well. :face-icon-small-sad

Forth, after lunch my sled started sputtering and had to baby it home as well. :face-icon-small-sad

Fifth, when the tow truck guy came to get my truck he didn't have a flat bed and he didnt know how to use the dollys on his tow truck so we had to wait around for an hour for this other guy to come by and help him get the truck rigged up.

So our day took down 3 sleds and 1 truck, and we were gone from about 6:30 am till 10:30 at night all for about 4 hours of sled time.

Oh but it was still fun. :face-icon-small-hap

PS nice pics and video

Well that makes me feel better that I'm not the only one having a bad weekend. Seems like everyone on here had epic rides.

I had the same luck must have been in the air! First went out to hook up trailer (enclosed) the dang front door always freezes shut because of where I park it (DUH) so I always leave it cracked open and close right before leaving well got a little distracted took off before latching needless to say door came open lodged in snow bank ripped it right the you know off broken hinges what a mess! Finally got it to close enough to park it back in its spot was pissed at myself! So anyway thought I would hook up the 2 place so backed up to it put the hitch on ball didn't get it latched and you can guess what happened next (yeah I'm stupid) hit the ramp off comes hitch straight into tailgate! LOL you would think that would be it but no I'm a glutton for punishment so set there on the trailer thinking should I really risk going to the mountain after that mess! Well I did and it was an awesome day that out weighed all the BS that happened to start the day but I did have a record amout of stucks that day but it's all good great friends and great times! Here's a few pics!
