The conservation snow geese season runs Feb 7 - April 12, with no bag limit or possession limit. Its pretty much a slaughter. I think you can even use electronic calls during this time. Talk about a kick in the butt. Bring plenty of shells. The only problem is figuring out what to do with the carcasses. You only want to keep so many. I cant imagine having a pickup load of snows in my freezer.
That looks about the size of a flock of Snows & Blues 3 of us snuck up on about 5yrs back. Got within about 10 yards popped up and unloaded our guns once. Dropped 58 birds (that we found anyway). we had 1 dog with us and he was going bat shat trying to get downed birds and cripples. Anyway, friend that was supposed to go fishing with us earlier and bring one of my hunting buddies rods over was supposed to go too but didn't show for either event. Later that night were shooting pool and he thinking were giving him crap about not going but were making comments like, "I wonder what 58 geese carcases smell like." etc. Not knowing my buddy Shane stuffed the back of his truck with those geese carcases after we breasted the meat and got to the bar. The next morning Shane got a disturbing phone call being called a bastage and to go look outside etc. Went outside and he's got dead geese all over his yard, driveway and roof. never forget that hunt.
If those turned out to be Canadian Geese (Sky Carp - is what we call them around here), I would have been in my truck heading your way to "thin the herd"
