I have the bikeman powder lite can on my 13 800 and wondering if the bikeman y pipe is worth adding ?? they claim 4-5 hp gain is it something you can notice or just more noise ?? also they say no fuel controller needed

More power requires more fuel and air.......or a more efficient mixture of the two.

The y pipe will give you a small gain, but more in the neighborhood of 1HP on the HO motor.

Now before I get attacked, there are pipe/y pipe combos that are designed to work together. In this case you may put the pipe on the stock y and get say 5 HP and then add the y that is made to go with the pipe and get 3.

DynoTech has see 2-3 peek and 5 in the midrange. It seems the DD Y pipe is better. Fwiw I have a DD and a BMP Y pipe for the HO 800 in the garage right now and the DD is smoother flowing to the doughnut.

DTR is a independent dyno and has proved our product. Where are you getting these facts you are stating? You are more than welcome to come down for a day of testing. The Y Pipe has a drastic effect and in all reality the beginning of the expansion chamber. On twins this would be the head pipe. Your statement is like saying the volume of the exhaust port doesn't matter as long as the port timing is the same.

Attached is testing from today on the 2016 cat 8000 notice the Y pipe does make a difference in fact it completely changes the dynamics of the power curve.

That is what I was going to say. I would wager just the PCV with a good tune will net you two or three HP. I will not argue with your dyno results, but we have be comparing things one step at a time to get real gains.

As you can see, there is always controversy over power. Seat of the pants dyno vs. a real dyno.
I had purchased one from Bikeman, I was really impressed. There was definitely more power in the midrange and seemed like some on the top end. But, I didn't stop there, I wanted more so I went to the Jaws pipe. I did measure ID and OD and it was larger than the stock Y pipe with a bit of different shape to it.
I would suggest picking one up. Time is not bad to install, just don't be in a hurry.
Hope this helps...

thanks everyone going to give it a try, just bought one if I need more power I will get out my 1000 cutler turbo
