Biikeman video of turning up your oil pump

One of the first things I'm going to do to my sled when it arrives. The video mentioned 3 turns for a big bore, are three turns also recommended for a stock engine?

i dont know how much variation between 1 turn is...but im going to turn the pump up all the way in...then 2 turns out...after that i will adjust until i get a 50:1 ratio with 1 oz of oil per one gallon of gas in the gas tank...along with counting how much turns it takes from stock to get to fully seated

The video certainly did help, but IMHO a person doesn't need to remove all that stuff. I did my 13" first and took me longer to remove all the stuff than adjust the oil pump. It took me maybe 15 minutes to adjust my 12". The 13" does have a few more wires in the way, but removing the secondary was a waste of time. Just use a 1/4 inch drive with an extension and longer screw driver and bam, you're done.

Yep and hold the arm with something when you tighten the jam nut.

About how many threads are left showing after 3 turns? I think mine was about 3 threads showing, maybe 2?.. Mine ended up being a pain as the paint had really gotten into the nut/threads so the whole unit was turning while I was trying to adjust it. Just wanna make sure I didn't go too far.

for stock pros, my buddy says to turn the set screw up until it is flush with the lock nut.

Flush is too much. I went four turns into was halfway to flush.

This is how I did mine, 3 turns , app 3 threads showing after adjustment but not sure if that means anything or not? Didn't pay any attention to scribe lines that have been mentioned before:face-icon-small-con

In the service manual says to adjust it until the "V" notch on the arm (at the pump) until lines up with the scribe mark on pump housing. Which is the historically the correct way. Now, in order for me to do this, per the manual, it took 10 turns.

I want to adjust the oil pump on my 13 SBA but I have a 4 yr warranty and don't want to jeopardize that. Will turning the oil pump up affect my warranty in any way? Has anyone had a warranty issue denied or questioned because it was turned up?
