Bighorns and The Passage Resort

I just got home from a week in the horns and stayed at the Passage. The snow conditions were much better than I figured they would be and we did a lot of shoveling and pulling on sleds. We did ride by a lot of guys playing on hardpack....but I guess, each to their own! Some of you may remember that last year I said I would never stay at the Passage again as long as they had the same manager. Well the new managers Jason and Betty Jo were the best host you could ask for. They came in under very difficult conditions and have totally turned that place around. They are a little short staffed, but everyone was very friendly and helpfull. This was probably one of the best experiences I have had with any of the resorts there. It's nice to know we have a place to go to that tries as hard as they can to make you stay as good of experience as possible.

I would agree 100%. We had a blast staying at Passage over New Years. Yeah, they are a little understaffed, but they are extremely friendly and very helpful. And yeah, if you got out of the windblown areas, the snow wasn't bad at all!!

Hey thanks guys...that is music to my ears....we are working hard on getting more staff up here but we are have come to the conclusion that we would rather work short staffed than have a bunch of employees who are less then happy to be here. We are really trying our best and I am super happy that you all had a good time.....in fact....since we had such good feedback we have decided to extend our 49.95 room rates for the month of January to give everyone a chance to try us out and see what we have to offer....thanks again guys
Betty Jo

If I can get some work done and find a couple more guys to help pay fuel I'll check that new motel out. I've never seen rates like that up there!

Wow that's a good deal. We stopped there when we were out there riding in December of '07 and the lady at the front desk was very helpful. Not sure if this was the same owner's at that time or not?

This is good to hear, That resort is really nice and all it needed was some owners that care and it sounds like they got some now!!! Is it all done or are they still working on the back building??

Checked out the website you guys need to get that webcam going hehehe :)

I have their web cam link in my favorites but I don't know how to paste it on here. Trouble with it is, it does not pan all the way around. What were they thinking? I can tell you who is fueling up and running around the parking lot!

I too was up at the passage on new years day and stayed until sunday morning.. First time in the new motel part.. and the rooms were very nice.. and had plenty of room for 4 of us with gear.. however they do need to get some hooks up in the rooms for drying out gear..
The staff was very good.. but you could tell they were being pulled 100mph.. ohh and the ribeye buffet on thurs. night.... didnt make much money on me :D..
When we pulled in the parking lot was kinda a mess and a few people got stuck including me.. but by sat. they had it taken care of and easy to get around..

Keep the rooms rates all winter.. ;):D:D... ohh and start selling race gas so i dont have to bring my barrel.. :D..

Next time up.. I know where we are staying..

i'll be out there in the end of feb so hopefully i wont fall in any open holes in the parking lot and blow my knee out like last year . that happened last year on check in to our rooms its a good way to screw up a trip i hope its better and i wish you the best of luck out there i'll see ya in feb

We will be staying there in March. Stayed there last March, believe it was ST. Patricks day, not sure, stayed in the new hotel, the door was a 4x8 sheet of plywood. We may have been your first guests to stay in there. Even with no running water we had a fantastic time, can't wait to see how it looks finished off, see you in March, if we book right now can we get the rate?

Well we have made improvements too long to list. The hotel is complete, we are still doing a little cosmetic stuff here and there but it is complete. We are really happy everyone is giving us a shot up here, we all know there were quite a few problems but we are really coming along....we did extend the 49.95 room rate through the month of January so anything booked during the month of January even if it is for a trip in March is 49.95......we are getting dumped on today...lotsa snow !! The contractor that come up from Greybull said he was pushing snow over his hood today on the highway!
