Size and color?

Also---Will an 8" two wheel kit really improve hard pack side hilling? Or is it just expensive bling? Sould you also remove the front bogie wheels as well?

Thanks,

Bob

do a smittys800 axle kit its easy, about $70,don't take off front wheels, you can take off middle wheels hyfaxs are less than $20.

Biggest wheel you can get for stock is a 200mm (8") with I believe a 20mm bearing. Honestly the average person is not going to notice a difference if you have 8", 2 in the middle or 3 like the it comes stock. Looks nice I will agree, but you could probably spend the money elsewhere and be more satisfied.

Ski-Kitty - are you on a fishin' expedition?

The late 80's C4 (?) and then the early '90's C7 suspensions had 8" wheels.

My '86 Mx470 and '72 335 Olympic also had extrovert drivers. (Although they had a finer pitch than later model tracks.)

Still tryin' to think - but there was three items that I had noticed that Doo had done stock yrs before that were considered to be the must have upgrade (likely bling) in the past number of yrs. Kant think what that third one was rat now? :o

As per your poke aboot the idlers - I kept BOTH sets of up front idlers on my '02 Summit, and it has had scratchers most of it's life. I now have 8000 Km's on it and is still on the original sliders! I don't need to be "kewl". I am more interested in longevity. ;)

Anything else your fishin' fer?

BTW - color would'a been black on the C4 Mx and green on the C7 Summit.

Hey Ox, you're still alive? I though "wifey" iced you a few days ago:D

Thanks for the history lesson---old fish are better than no fish anyday:beer;

Since the snow is now setting up I am wondering if it is worth the cash to install an 8" BW kit on my 04 to help with side hilling. I have heard conflicting reports about this.

It appears that I could get XP OEM rear wheels that would work and save me some bucks over those high buck billet wheels.

How would the size of the rear idles help with sidehilling?

OX,

I should have re-stated that it would be a 2 wheel 8" BW kit. I have heard, on this 4M, that the 2 internal wheels help with side hilling and turning.

I am trying to find out if that is true as well as where can I get the 8" plastic DOO OEM wheels. (XP?)

If the 2 wheel kit does not help with maneuverability, then there is NO reason to spend $$$$ for bling.

Then the theory is that the track beyond the inside wheel will bend away and not dig so much then?

But it is this exact spot that you are rolling it in an 8" circle eh?

Sounds tough on the chords to me. ???

I went with a 9" inside the rails 2 wheel kit on my 07. I could not tell it helped with anything, just looks cool.

I also had a 9" Big Wheel kit with offset axle on my last sled and yes....it does add bling but I did find that the sled sidehilled better, especially in harder packed snow because the track folded over as opposed to being rigid.
