Bigger/Heavier Rider Sled Recommendations?

I'm 6'5 and go about 275 with gear.

Looking to get back into sledding. Sold my EdgeX when I left WI for CO. Need to stay in the 2003-7 vintage.

Edge chassis of IQ?
6, 7, 8 or 900?
track length? Will a 144 cut it with my size in the deep?

Thanks guys.

Read a lot of the "caution" threads re: the '05-06 700/900 RMKs. And not that I can't, just don't have the time/$ to put into one.

That being said, 7-800 Edge Chassis, 144-151 track?
Thoughts?

I'm a heavier rider than you and would say a minimum engine size of a mountain sled is 700 but 800 is preferable. The Edge chassis you are familiar with is a good mountain sled and very reasonably priced. I'm not sure where you plan to ride but I'd say a minimum track length of 151" and prefer a 156" or 159" length. Lastly, even though that generation steering posts were not designed strength-wise for lengthening, a good aftermarket 4-6" extended length and higher strength steering post (wildchild on this forum has built me several quality steering posts). Also you'll have to extend the throttle cable and brake line will allow you to stand up straighter.

Where are you located? Looks like Colorado?

I have the perfect sled for you but too far north. (03 rmk 800 162x2.5).

If your looking for a decent ride especially with your height I'd stay away from anything with trailing arms. M8 would be my first choice, next would be the dragon. Either of those will be 1000 times better than the older chassis.
