For better riding area ( hills, open meadows, ect.) the north end definetly has the advantage there is a lot more places to ride. As for the snow, i know the south end just got a fresh foot on sunday, but if it is to stay that way it needs to snow some more. I am not sure about the snow on the north end, i havent been up there in quite a while but i would expect the same. The north end seems to get more wind than the south end and makes some of the open really hard. If you go to the south i reccommend Deer Haven Lodge, stayed there about a month ago on a trip from bear to deer haven and had a great time. On the north side i would reccommend bear lodge as well, they have about everything that you will need. Hopefully this weekend i can get up to one side and ride and let you know how the snow is!
