Big bore on 800 pro

I think your expectations are to high for what you want to accomplish. With the 2000-10000' variation no setup is gunna be pull and go.... You will have to re clutch, different blend of fuel and play with the fuel box for it to perform at all the different elevations you ride. That's why I asked. What do you want out of the sled? Is pull and go the main concern or is more hp the goal?

I am running the par 910 with vipec.

Where to start ;)

Power- The 910 has amazing bottom end power very very good mid and very good top end. If you are looking for turbo hp and top end you won't find it with a big bore. If you are looking for instant throttle response and amazing bottom end the big bores are the tickets.

I ride 90% of my day in the trees. And for how I ride, in my opinion, it's was the best fit for my riding style.

I installed my 910 in Jan of 2013 rode it all that winter and all this winter never had any motor issues what so ever. I am doing some preventative maintenance this year and doing the top end and the bearings on the crank. Not sure if it's quite time but I would rather do it all in the summer and not deal with a headache in the winter. The sled has been super reliable.

Pull and go, that really depends on you and if you are a tinkerer or not. The maps that we have made up for the 910 are really really good. I would strongly suggest getting the vipec if you ride that much of an elevation change. We have 4d maps set up from sea level to 12,000 ft where the vipec adjusted automatically. I know Bryce with turbo boys performance has set acouple vipec'n up for some 858's as well. They are pricey but well worth the money. You can change any aspect of your tuning on your sled. Make you own ignition table, egt trims, what rpm the exhaust valves open, check voltages, coolant temps, afr's, rpm's etc etc. And you can instantly data log. So you can be pulling a hill and flip a switch and data log the run then hook it up to your lap top and see how the sled was running.

I have enjoyed my 910 very much would recommend it highly.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask ?

Guys this info is so helpfull thank you what I want most of all is to get an edge over my brothers and riding buddies stocker you know how that goes lol my bro and me are Mac we pull diesel Moters apart all day so working on sleds is really not a pro I don't have a pro with having to change weight and change fueling when i head west to the Rockies 4 times a year I just don't want to have to tinker with it ALL day if you know what I mean
I'm thinking of going with low compression heads so I can run pump gas I know I'll lose a few hp by doing that but that ok
My sled has 1700 miles on it so it's pro time for a top end so that's the reason I wanna go bb now know what I mean

I would do a rk tek 858 and boondocker box if it was me.

But then again if it was me. I would be doing a turbo........

Yeah the twin pipes helped the top end quite a bit. I really like them. I am going to try and get back to Morgan and see if I can get CPI to dyno my sled now that we had a full year of tuning on it with the twin pipes. There was a noticeable difference with the twins though.

Will the 910 run the twins at 10,000+ft?

Yeah it runs really well. I usually ride from 8000 to 11,000 ft on an average day. Bryce at turbo performance made an egt trim table for the vipec and after acouple weeks we perfected it and the sled runs awesome.

I'm hearing great things about the Mild To Wild 850cc.
That's Jake Stewart in Bismarck.
I know that turbotater does his porting and you CANNOT beat his work. I've been going to him for porting since 2007.

If I had the coin I'd get the PAR 910.
I'd like to try these 850/858/860/900/910 big bores, but no matter what, I would do a Vipec. I have yet to hear anything but STELLAR reports.
I've only ridden the Carl's 900 back in 2012.
I have gotten a couple hours a couple of HM Turbo sleds with Vipec and I could NOT make them hiccup. Vipec is a serious player in this game.

I would love to have the 910 with vipec for a spare sled. Problem is the price tag is about the same as doing a full on turbo.

I could have done almost 3 rkt 858s for that money, that pays for ALOT of gas and beer.

Again, not bashing any big bore, just speaking from price stand point and experience. Then again, my 2015 vohk built turbo invoice is just under 30k. But whats money anyway?

You can use what you want. But I wouldn't want a PC . Don't want to have to have a lap top with me to make a quick tuning change.

858

I'm looking real hard at the rkt 858 for this winter. Already have a rev 1 dropin kit for the past two seasons. Was going to put new pistons in for preventative maint this fall, but might as well go for something different.

I'm not expecting a huge gain in hp for the mountains, but it should be pretty noticeable at 1200ft where most of my riding is at.

For the 2 trips west a season, I'm looking for the most compression I can run on a 50/50 110/91 mix. Looks like 15:1 is a bit much.

Looks like it will be around 2700 bucks after kit, clutching, and boonie box.

Also the RKT kit now has a cylinder spacer to help add some crank volume as LoudHandle pointed out.

This past season I went from a stock 11' pro to a 14' pro with Carls 900, clutching, etc and a 3" track...pull and go... I love it !!
