All of worm creek slid today. 2 or 3 partially buried but they got everyone out. Just getting details from friends that were there. More info to come when I get it. Please be careful.

Thanks for the info!

Be safe out there.......avy danger seems to be high ALL over right now. Live to ride another day. :)

Glad everyone got out. Keep us posted on details please.

WOW.. rode just north of there all day today.. did not get as far as Worm Creek..

Didn't see many riders... Hope all is alright.. Any idea who they were?

Thanks

Kelsey

Some of the people involved. My brother in law Darren Lutz, Dolan Phelps, Jason Crane, Brad wilks Martin forgot martins last name. And a few more.

Not sure yet but what I understand Dolan, Martin partially burried. Someone else was nearly completely burried. Had a hand out and they got him out and he was ok

The entire ridge slid nearly over to cocaine ally from what I've heard

WOW.. Glad nobody was seriously injured...

Very rare to see it slide in that canyon... but with the frigid cold and new snow.. I guess it was ripe for it..

Anyway.. glad everybody got out OK..

Please keep us posted on the details as you get them..

Thanks

Just return from that general area and heard the same news. Fortunately, break downs kept our group from riding that area. At any rate, saw close to 2 dozen riders throughout the day.

I guess it slid right at the ground. From the 2 that I have talked with the said it's the biggest slide they have ever seen.

One person was stuck at the top of the hill and s couple of people walked down to help. When they got the sled out and started the hill broke lose. Dolan was on his sled and rode it out. Martin Bills tried to get back to his sled but was swept down the hill. He was able to stay close to the surface and was only partially buried but beat up pretty good from the ride down. Someone else I don't know was on the hill or going up the hill and was caught in it and knocked off his sled. He was burried with only one leg sticking out of the snow. They were able to get him out fairly quickly and other then being pretty shaken up he was fine.

I know at least some of the people that were there are on here from time to time so please correct me if I'm mis stating anything. I know when I finally talked with Darren an hour ago he was still pretty shaken up.

I telepathically told Jed not to ride Bloomington today.. It worked!@

Yup......i heard it. I was actually going to be riding there tomorrow, but opted for the Snocross races instead. I'll snap some good pics for ya.

I actually called Kelsey cause I thought FOR SURE when I read that he would have been there. Glad all are ok!

Checked it out today... The slide was between 1500ft and 2000ft wide.. VERY massive....Biggest one I have ever seen, even with regards to pictures..

It is a very good thing that there was not more snow ..

Scary.. to see that hill slide after riding there for 6 years and never seeing it slide before..

Makes ya think...for sure

As posted in the other article.
"Well, first and foremost, glad everyone made it out OK. Without trying to be too abrasive, what the HE!! were 4 guys doing on a hill at one time? Did anyone check the avy conditions before riding that morning. If I recall, that whole area had some serious avy warnings the last time that I checked. Glad everyone is OK, but from the report, seems pretty foolish of your group. Not trying to bash, but if the reports I read were true, ya all threw caution to the wind and put some peeps in danger."

Correct me if I am wrong and did not read the report correctly.

WOW...Glad everyone made it out ok....we were coming that way out of Cub River the day before.....made it to the intersection and just decided on a whim to go right instead of left. We played on some decent size hills but stuck to the ridges and stayed off the larger stuff. Glad we did...seemed like it was a little unstable.

Best news is that everyone came home able to hug kids and family!!!!!

Thanks CPA.........WOW:eek: They are extremely lucky there wasn't more snow or that could have been absolutely devastating.

I also can't believe the snow conditions in there for January!:(

Dang! Pictures do not do it justice to see the size of this particular slope either. Its a very big and wide slope. Whats scary is that its one of the most popular ones in that whole area. Lots of people hammer away at it regularly.

I've been up that very spot probably 30 times at least.

Spooky stuff for sure. Everyone seems to make that place a stop on the "loop" that everyone does up there.

good thing no one got completly burried at the bottom and there wasnt more snow..... I wouldn't be the least bit surprised that you could have a very very deep avy accumulation at the bottom of that mountain.

Be safe everyone.
