Beware of the BDX oil pump delete.

this ain;t my gear...but is from months ago.../QUOTE]

Well if it is not your gear than who's is it? I have been with Cats Race program since 01 and raced until 05. 03 is when they did there oil delete and yes they had problems and that is because you had a aluminum support with a steel shaft. Maybe if all you guy look at the race department and look up a part number for the fix since 03 Cat use's is the same thing as BDX. BDX actually came up with the fix. Ask any racer now if they have seized the shaft due to oil delete problems. Ask the guy's from Polaris and SkiDoo. They dont run oil injection either. The problems we have had are due to the temp changes during a race and leaning the jets out to make the most power you can get out of them. Yes it was very comon in 03. Are you guy's saying that all the racer's today are running oil injection? Do you want me to ask Tucker that because i will. I know for a fact that the same system with the oil delete system he is running that BDX has out. Granted he only race's but he also rides his sled. I have almost 2000 miles on my 05 mod 800 that did and still will dyno 215 horse and have never had a problem and yes back in 03 my stock sled siezed the shaft and BDX help me and alot of racer out.

SoGrand, if you are saying the shafts are seizing because guys are leaning them out too far to obtain maximum hp then why would the top end not seize? I helped Scaldedcat tear his motor down and his top end looked like new. Unfortunately his crank bearings all made noise necessitating replacement. The bushing the oil pump driveshaft rides on is practically welded to the shaft. The installation of the oil delete kit is almost idiot proof. I did the install as well, and this isn't my first rodeo either. Not trying to start anything, just stating the FACTS.

the gear got posted just before xmas by a person on this forum that was leaning towards the delete kit causing the problem and he posted the picture...then he leaned towards a belt blown that put his crank out of sync and caused the gear to do what it did,,,so he deleted his posts ..but i saved the picture cause i had the delete and was curious as to weather his first impression was right...and ..so now that similar problems are arising its just the old saying...where there is smoke there is fire...the orignal deleted post was by the forum member sidehill...as soon as he posted l looked at his profile...as well i noticed bdx visited just before me...then next thing post was deleted...

my static level drops overnight...does that cavity just fill up so much then bleeds slowly excess into crankcase..???.....the cavity can't be sealed tight otherwise a pressure build up right..??...so i am assuming that when i put oil in tube that a portion always stays in bottom of cavity to lube water pump bushing and shaft /crank gear..??

It is not a sealed system, this is why it won't hold pressure or any quantity of liquid. This is also why the premix bleeds back into this area from the case, as long as there is enough oil in the premix to do the trick.
Based on what I have learned & been told about running premix with this system it seems that you need to run a higher level of oil with your premix, maybe BD-X should tell folks that they should not run over a certain ratio for this to be safe.

Back from the dead...
The cat factory snow cross sleds that run pre-mix, have 2 aditional oil holes drilled to direct oil to the center gear, and to the bushing in the oil pump adapter.
