Our group was in Cooke in Dec. and one guy rented a sled from CCM. Somewhere over the 2 days that he rented he hit a rock and slightly bent the a-arms. He had to buy two arms, a new ski because the one he was using was gouged from the rock and also pay for labor. Grand total ~ $500. He was pretty bummed out BUT being the man that he was he understood that Brandon and Sara run a business and needing to keep the sleds in top shape is strictly a business necessity. They aren't trying to gouge the customer and do appreciate your patronage. But, at the end of the day, there are bills to pay and a business to run.
Last winted I had both a clutch spider fail and my throttle cable fail on the same trip. I went to the shop at closing time after my clutch failed and explained my problem. Brandon let his dinner get cold to fix my sled that night so I could enjoy riding the next day bright and early, and for that I thank him. He could just as easily have been like every dealer near me and said tough luck we close in 5 minutes - but instead he understood my need to get it fixed and went out of his way to do so. And, luckily, Sara had the throttle cable in stock for my sled and I was able to fix that problem myself pretty quickly, along with a new recoil spring for my brothers sled when his recoil broke. I am very thankful that CCM is there and wouldn't hesitate to buy parts OR rent from them in the future.
I've had great experiences with CCM, Exxon and Bearclaw Bob's and although I don't enjoy fixing my sled on trips I am VERY happy that Cooke has businesses who go way (and sometimes WAY) beyond to help out the snowmobilers who keep the city alive in the winter.
