Better Board Cleat To Knee

I've been preaching the cheapo knee shin guards forever
Yeah, I agree. Got lots of them, all different brands for dirtbiking, my problem is sometimes I wear them sometimes not. I never dirtbike without them but sledding I'm just lazy sometimes and don't wear them. Looking at that gash however and I think I'll start again.

Glad to hear you are shopping.

Make them part of your system of putting on your riding clothes irregardless of the expected challenge of the days ride! I never leave the trailer without my body armor, knee guards, helmet, beacon/shovel/probe. It doesn't matter if I'm going on a silly fun run or puttering down a trail to hit a hot springs.

I just about got slaughtered Sunday 2 minutes from the pickup and 20 feet off of the trail. Rode 50 miles of epic intense backcountry then about got it on the trail! Helmet busted, throttle thumb buggered up, sled slightly wrinkled, ego now has a HUGE HEMATOMA! eh eh

For that matter ive seen guys eat it right in the parking lot just trying to load! Season's too short to have a minor deal hurt you bad enough that you have to sit out any amount!

and don't forget your tutu

asterisk cell knee brace. $600 for a set. i had my first knee surgery at 20 due to snowboarding, so i now use them when i get stupid on anything heavier than one. they just changed the support fabric on the back and its comfier and also easier just adjust your straps. and now they come in colors if you wanna show them off:face-icon-small-coo

plumnuts having never lost a race to you I've never actually had to wear the tutu so I wouldn't know!:D:D:D It did look good on you though! What does my sled look like going along? Or was I always too far ahead! I suppose I could get a bigger number plate sewn on and make it easier. oh tears

Hey are you angling for me to come out of retirement? EASY does it there...it ain't happening. They were giving me the Brett Farve BS in the bar in Alpine last weekend. D U N done!

BraaaaaaaAAAAAAAp:D

Took a shin/knee to the boards on my M8 (stock boards) on Feb 11th. Not even a mark on my Klim pants, pulled up my pant leg when I felt stopped because it didn't feel like the normal running board bite. Filleted to the bone, wrapped it in toilet paper and electrical tape and rode the rest of the day, irrigating before sutures SUCKS, staples came out on Monday.

I will now NEVER AGAIN ride without knee/shin protection.

Also note just in the case that some poor unknowing reader might think this is a BETTER BOARDS WAMMO. We had a local guy get the standard stock running board iceberg build up, slip and fall off of his terrible STOCK running boards, and get ginsu'd on his upper inner thigh as his SLICK and DANGEROUS ABSOLUTELY STOCK running boards chain sawed his mandom. OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH and for all of us men that should be bringing a tear to your eye and just about making you chunk!

I prefer traction and protection!

Exactly why I started wearing asterisk's this year. Knee support AND no running board cuts and bruises.

Saw the orthopedic doc for the second time today after a January unplanned dismount from sled. Will not be riding again without knee protection. I figure a new 2012 could be sitting in my garage for what this will cost me.
