Better Board Cleat To Knee

This is what happens when you try to rescue yourself from wrecking and take a Better Board cleat to the knee. Just a few stiches....luckily no other carnage to self or sled. BTW this is not a knock on Better Boards, love them and will continue using on current and future sleds.

I think the better board cleat isn't anywhere near as bad to take to the knee as to say, the cleats on the edge of the Polaris dragons... Those things are sharp!

Looks like just a gash so it shouldn't be too bad, I had an incident last summer on a waterski that required 9 stitches when my knee hit the ski... Still hurting 7 months later.

Have them in the KLIM bibs but according to the little hole in the bib the pad must have been pushed to the side....

Those aren't kneepads, that's just a foam pad that hangs in the pant. You need something that wraps tight around your knee.

OR.. If you have really bad knees... Ossur CTi Vapor-Sport Carbon Fiber with patella-gell hard cups.

I use a set of Thor knee gaurds. Covers the knee all the way to the ankle. Saved my skin to many times to count.

Oneal articulating knee guard called "pump guns." Worked even when the plastic split in two.... Didn't feel a thing & would have been my knee cap otherwise. 40 bucks to replace knee guards.

I slipped off mine last year and thought I broke my shin bone. After 11 months I can still see the mark. Gawd it hurt.

OUCH! The sucks.

I've been preaching the cheapo knee shin guards forever. Pull your foam from your riding pants/knee and put on hard plastics and you still get the mobility plus real impact protection. $12 from Fox My left knee is hashed so I wear an EVS WEB system on that side and the cheapo on the other. Saved my riding year.

thor force knee/shin guards, dont leave the trailer without them. no different than putting on a tek vest or helmet. just another piece of gear to wear so you can go to work on monday, to make money so you can ride the next weekend. you are investing in self-perservation. ski

I did that on my running boards back in 2001. NASTY ouch. MANY MANY stitches and a stiff recovery.

I bought some Klim freerides...took out the pads and never rode without my Fox shin guards after that.
