Beta 480rr

The bike has a lot going for it even though it's a carbed 4 stroke. Electric start plus back up kick, big stator for lights , grips etc. Also has an updated Cdi race version . Has anyone used this machine out in the snow yet? What's your thoughts ?

I switched from KTM to Beta in the dirt, won't look back unless KTM does something great, that being said I'm riding a KTM XC and SX 450 on snow!

It will probably be a great bike. However, keep in mind it's basically a 450 enduro bike. It's not going to be a hard hitting, close ratio race bike. So decide what you want, performance wise, and enjoy! Love my 300 RR in the woods.

If it's a 2016 or 2017 then it's FI. I'm thinking of a Beta for a snow bike. The lower seat height should be great.

The Beta 480 and 498 are deceptive as a snow bike. What I noticed is that when you ride one and then hop on another closed ratio MX bike they don't feel as fast or as snappy. But.........going up a long hill the big Beta will hold 3rd gear while you are shifting down to 2nd and sometimes first on the 450 MXers. The power is smooth and linear, not exciting, but it gets the job done.
