Cumming best motor dont want a standard wife cant drive and not fan of interior, love powerstroke crappy gas mileage, chevy is a chevy to me nice but grandpa truck. Chip exhaust intake and a lot of lead foot. Pull 4 to 5 sleds and a 26 foot camper not that much pulling. all opinions wanted.

They all will do the job you want. Each brand holds its own. Just find the one thats most apealing to you. I wouldn't be afraid to have either of the three.:beer;

Totally agree! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! If your wanting an automatic trans, go with Ford or Chevy....JMHO

03-07 5.9 Cummins

Fairly easy to find in that price range

Love my 03 HO auto. Spend $20k and buy a converter and valvebody and you will be good to go.

Could get an 99-03 7.3 but they are way down on power compared to a D-Max or Cummins.

02-04 D-Max is a good truck except if your out of injector warranty and they go bad. Big bill.

No stock auto will like a 150 hp tune and 10,000 lb trailer.

Whatever you do, run away from a 6.0 Powerstroke.:)

06-07 Chevy/GMC LBZ motor. Can be found with low miles still.

Motor takes to mods well, does awesome with fuel mileage, and the interior is posh. Will pull enclosed with 5 sleds like a hot knife through butter!

Wifey will love the allison 6 speed automatic.

thanks

I agree with everything you have all said but why stay away from 6.0 I have 3 in my family. one 04 and two 06 all with 40 to 50 k all chiped all intake and all have exhaust and they are awesome except for the fuel mileage. They do have hardly any miles but don't get driven hard at all. They all pull heavy loads but don't get leadfooted around. So i guess tell me what the 6.0 is gonna do.

I love my Sick Liter! I have an early 6.0 to boot! I have close to 70,000 miles on mine. Its chipped and a cold air intake. I think my truck gets good mileage for what it is. 18 empty, 12-15 in town and 10-12 towing. I'm not complaining about it @ all. JMHO :D
