Best sled decks

Lets hear it , who's the best. I am looking for one with slide in sides for a long box and I don't like the split ramps.

i have yet to find a good deck sight with information bout there decks all you ever get usually is length width a few pictures and a stupid order here link. why cant they have a spec sheet on these decks there all over a couple grand for aluminum pretty well so why cant they put time in explaing there product.

I have owned 3 decks. I now own High Rise. Its the best so far but still has issues. My beavertail Ski High was nice but a little flimbsy and my High Lite was a POS IMO.

Moto Mikey.....Nuff Said

I couldn't be happier with my Moto Mikey deck http://www.sledecks.com/. If you dont like like a split ramp, you can just use the long piece and put the short piece away. I like the 2 piece ramp, it's easy to put together even for an old fat guy with a bad back and it makes the loading/unloading really easy. I can't imagine the pucker factor for a guy like me with only 8' of ramp. I went to Mikey fab yard and looked at his set up. Mike builds each deck himself, start to finish. It had all the goodies (glides, lights, quick clamp holes, diamond plate, etc) that you want in a deck ready to go. Lots of room underneath too. This is one tough deck and ramp. I am 350#'s and I have been loading my Apex on and off for 2 years now with no issues.

I also found it hauled my huge new hot tub quite well too. You can't go wrong with a Moto Mikey. EW

Well I'm a little biased but go to

www.marathondecks.com

Then phone Jay

We offer

7 or 8 ft multi fit deck (if you sell your truck and get a short box you just move the legs)

Slide out sides

Telescoping 12 ft ramp (my grandma could load on a 12')

LED lights

Beefy headache rack

Direct truck mount (not turnbuckled)

2 Superclamps included

Glideslide on ramp

Can be side loaded for quads (drive on, drive off loading)

And so much more

Cheers

I vote for Marathon, too!

Had another brand, but sold it, and one day I will pick up a Marathon.

One thing to look at is the welds, some sleds are mig welded where you cant see it, and tig where you can.... I noticed this on a few brands, and the weld quality on the ramps is sometimes iffy....

The marathon decks also bolt through the bed of the truck. Much better than turnbuckles, especially on vehicles like Dodge (mine) that have plastic cleats for tiedowns in a box.

The anchor points in standard trucks are NOT rated. Period.

You would be shocked if you pull out the hardware on those tie down loops. They have enough strength to hold down a cooler of pops but that's about it. I've seen a pic of a rear end collision and the deck let go and smashed the rear window/ roof. It was fastened with turnbuckles to the factory loops.

The only safe way to mount a deck is through the floor of the box using a 1/2" grade 5 minimum bolt and a large "washer" on each side to spread the weight.

Reminds me of the guy that loaded his rototiller on the back of his truck. Seems it was in 'roto' gear and didnt stop till it got to the dashboard. :)

Our decks are about as close to a Marathon as you can get with out being a Marathon, they are built here in the US and we think they are built better. We use thicker heavier materials and use more cross bracing that anyone else does. I have used about all of the decks out there and think this one is the strongest most secure one available and our price is $400 - $500 less than anything that compares in features and quality.

Our decks come standard with:

Polished Sides

LED lights

Under Deck Light

10 foot telescoping Ramp with Super Glide, ramp is easy to use and gives you the max length possible for short box pick ups.

1 Pair of Front Super Clamps (Best clamp system on the market)

Expandable sides

Nice heavy duty head ache rack

Will fit long or short box, very similar design to the Marathon in that the rear legs move from one position to the other.

The foot pads on the legs can be drilled and bolted direct to the pick bed (just like the marathon) or if you want to use chains and turn buckles that is your choice. Some guys do a combination of the two.

Our leg design also gives you maximum under deck storage, while also supporting the full weight of the sleds because the legs are directly under each sled, (when two are loaded, you can load one in the middle and the deck comes with the Superclamp hook in the center)

Nearly everything is Tig welded, only minor parts are production welded with a Mig.

All materials are T-6061 Aluminum

Very nice decks from a very reputable Jet boat company, Custom Weld Jet boat dealer in Meridian ID. Bohnenkamp's Custom Weld Marine.

We have a pretty good web site www.customsledecks.com that has all the information you will need on it except the price and I will tell you right now they are $2995 retail, and we offer cash discounts and have an end of season special going on the last seven decks we have built for this season. PM with your location and I will check and see if we have dealer in your area and let you know what I can do cost wise.

Oh one more thing we are looking at going to Jackson hole for the Hill Climbs in late March if anyone wants a deck in that area, let me know and we will bring it down to you for free, if you pre pay for it.

I don't understand why I can buy a new 4 place open for less then a sled deck with no axles/tires/suspension etc?? (based on the prices at the last snow snow in spokane)

wtf:confused::confused:

they all over priced imo

whats a motomikey expandble with telescopic ramp run for?

Custom decks........

The decks that Sled169 are biulding look awesome! They are all TIG weled? WOW, I bet they take twice as long to build. Sure do look nice though. A little spendy but I guess you get what you pay for, Right! I have seen some aluminum decks out there that I would hesitate to put my minibike on. Nice job Custom Decks!-00's

Mine is custom hydralic tilt,it's not cheap, but I am. For sale.... Cheers Red Dog.
