I ran half a season with the stock shocks, but didn't like the feel with the AI arms. What's been working the best? What ctc ?

I had 16.25" ctc with my 36" alt impact arms.
Still 1" higher than stock. And it was like riding on top of a ball.
Super twitchy. Also the rear suspension had excessive sag.
15.75 would be a good length I think.
Andy at Gasshockrepair is very reasonable for shortening.
I like his revalve also.

There are a few variables on how the kit will perform. Shock preload can play a big part in that which of coarse also depends a little on rider weight etc. The 36" kit even for the bigger guys needs very little preload. I prefer as much travel in a shock as you can get (to a point of coarse), meaning an extended length of 16.625" versus 16.5", I'll take the second option especially for the guys running or possibly planning to run a 3" track. Again a few things to consider before you go cutting your shocks down. Call me, we can go over it. Thanks!

I ended up buying some fox 3 evols. Chris burant editions What's the typical pressures to run these with the alt a arms?

Couple of things:
1. Does anyone know what the exact shock length should be to get the skid geometry back to OEM? There is too much pressure on the RTS causing it to sag.

2. What are people doing to keep heim nuts tight? Is loctite holding it?

I went with stock length Elka stage 5's I'm running them with very little pre load.
As for the helm joint nut I just tightened it with a big wrench no lock tight,it hasn't moved in 2 years of riding
