Best Shocks- 08 RMK IQ

I have no doubt that the Z-Broz shocks are excellent, but their cost is out of reach for some of us. Max and crew at Tri-City Performance has customized these for our IQ RMK's and still kept them affordable for the average guy.

Fronts: Walker Evans with 16 position adjustable remote reservoir and dual rate springs $660.

Front track: Walker Evans W/dual rate spring $265. Rear track: Walker Evans with 16 position adjustable remote reservoir $299

For most non Snowcrossed raced sleds the cooling of the shock oil is not a concern on 99% of the sleds out there.

For me the Remote simply gives better control over the oil flow with external adjustments.

Ups and downs of large shafts (which the WE Needle and Exit shocks have)... stronger shaft, more oil flow for more control of the flow.... more weight as you need a larger IFP volume and a larger reservoir (more weight)

When you are buying a shock... make sure it is appropropriate for your riding style. No need to buy the best of best if you wont use the features.

Paul looks like he wants a "trail beating" shock that also works well in the mountains... something that excells in both areas... well... that will cost more.

For most mountain riders a basic mono-tube, properly valved, high quality shock will fit the bill and not break the bank. The shocks on this years PRO-RMK's are definatley that... custom valving will make them better....But no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater... stock shock tech on the new sleds has come a long way in the last 5 years.

Heck stock shock tech has come a long ways in the past 10-20 years alone. But the Ryde FX shocks are a decent shock and handle similarly to the Zero Pro's overall. Heck, if you are willing to widen your stance they go for cheap on ebay...

Well I do want to keep the stock RMK stance. No wider.

For the money of the Exit or the Evol shocks I would be better served to just go get the ProRMK I almost ordered to begin with. You know its going to happen soooner or later. I ended up buying needing a vehicle at the end of last season so droped some big coin there. Decided not to snowcheck due to that.

This year I just want to improve the shocks but not kill the bank. I guess I should have stated that earlier. However it is nice to see what available regardless of cost. With what I am planning for the rear I'm thinking the Fox Zero pros will be the bang for the buck and match my rear set-up the best. Or should I consider the float 2's? Either way it may not be the perfect shock but it will be a heck of a lot better than the standard gas non-rebuildables that are on the sled. With my costs on the rear Ryde FX 9200's I should be able to do all 4 for just under $1000 if I do the zero pros on the front.

shocks

I run evol x's, if you have the coin to get em, then get em, you will NOT be dissapointed. Order them from Carls with Carls valving. You can dial these shocks in better than any other shock IMO.
