Best Quality Side Vents

Hey guys I am trying to decide which side vents to buy for my HCR and need your help. I want to get my new sled ready for winter and dont know which brand of vents is made the best to last. I have looked at several online. I have used Moflow's products in my Raptors and they seem to be made very good, so that was the direction I was going but..... I want something that will last and not require replacing every season or two. Are some of the side vents built with a heavier mesh in between the outerware material to prevent heavy snow or a good smack of the vent from pushing the material out of the frame? What else do I need to look for? Some good constructive help would be appreciated. Thx:beer;

2 cool side vents hands down. They are made of a heavy mesh on the out side with pre filter underneath. The frame is on the inside of the mesh which imo is a much better design because then the frame can back the mesh up and it wont push through as easily, and the snow doesnt have a place to collect to (snow builds up on the frame when it is on the outside of the mesh) and there is almost never snow on my 2 cool vents. You can get pre filter on both sides, or just the clutch side if you want. Whatever you do dont buy cutler cpc vents, they dont hold up and they build snow like crazy.

i would have to dis agree with the comment about not buying cpc vents. i bought them from dale when i bought my sled and installed them just they said to. cut where the vent is and leave where the vent isn't so it adds strength. i have over 500 miles on mine and havn't had one problem with them. i think they look the best and have the frogskin material so no snow gets on your clutchs

There is a m1000 in our group with cpc vents that is with almost every time i go riding, and there is snow on them most of the time where there is almost never snow on my 2 cools. 2 cool vents also have frogzskins (prefilter) material, but it is underneath of the coarse plastic mesh so it doesnt get holes poked in it or push through. I also have never had any snow inside of my sled due to the side panels. So thats my opinion why i think 2 cools are a better vent.

Here are the cpc's on the M1000

Here is my crossfire 800 on the same hill, the pictures were taken seconds apart, i cropped the picture to try to get a closer view of the texture and structure of the 2 cool vents.

I have the MOFLOW vents on my sled and I love them!! I usually ride in pretty thick trees and I haven't poked a hole in any of the vents. Get a hold of snowbound from the forum and he'll hook you up with some good stuff.

Another vote for Tammy and Alans 2 cool Vents. If you want Quality and cutomer service thier Top Shelf. Cheers Red Dog.

Tammy and Alans 2 cool Vents are pretty good. When I ordered my set it took close to 2 months to get them. I was a bit disappointed with thier intial service, after talking with Alan on the phone he made everything right.

Give them a try you cant go wrong.

As a side note, I ditched the rivets and used stainless hardware. When not if I tear them it will be alot easier to repair, and the hardware is reuseable.

Fastlane

I put Fastlane's side vents on my sled. Very strong and clean looking.

Try these they are fawking bullet proof!! They are called gills side vents by bondockers. Drilled out a bunch of 3" holes in my side panels and quick install with the provided screw rivets. Very nice custom fit and no Material that will tear.

Hands down the best product and second to none on customer service are Tammy and Alan at 2 Cool Air Vents. You won't be disappointed in the least.

i bought some from BDX. they were only 59 bucks. all they are is frogskin material and instead of a plastic frame around the material, its 3M tape. i was a little disappointed when i opened the box but they are really not that bad. you don't have to drill any holes or rivet anything. you don't even need to remove the decal. just cut the holes you want either with a hole saw or you can cut out the whole area that will be touching the material. i cut 3 large holes in the panel to match the vents. it was hard to trace out, but it looks pretty good.

here is a pic of them installed. you can see the 3 holes that i cut. any place that you can see plastic showing through the vent, there is 3M tape attaching the vent to the plastic.Snap1.jpg
