Best Pistons for a M8 on Boost ?

Just that, for a 2010 M8 going on PG Boost is it best to run the HO lightweight pistons or the 2009 style.

I was told the 2009's are more durable

Set me straight

The 09 are cut different, go with the 2010 they work just fine. I don't think there is any difference in quality, just cut different on the HO. Why are you worrying about it anyway, I've heard of over 3000 miles on stock pistons running 10+lbs of boost, twisted kit. But it depends on whos kit it is,

What do you mean "it depends on whos kit it is?" Are you saying piston life correlates to kit manufacturer?

09 seem to hold up a little better, from what I have seen and heard. I put the 09's in my 2010 at the begining of the year and they have worked fine. And a bit cheaper. Some told me the 10's want to crack the piston easier when there is deto, the 09's are more forgiving. BUT I AM BY NO MEANS AN EXPERT ON THIS.:high5:

I may be wrong, I thought the 2010 pistons where shaped different on the bottom of the piston for a reason, such as flow. Now I am curious.

Bigair, if you want a answer start a thread.

Thats what a few people have mentioned and why I asked !

It depends on how much boost you're running more than anything. Bigair can we not turn this into "one of those" threads please?

Boost levels will be pump gas I.E. less then 10#

I was going to start the season and turbo off with a new set. I cant seem to make up my mind on which to use (Despite who's name is on the kit)

I would use stock pistons weather they be 09 or 10's. Thats what all the kit builder will say, (or at least all I know of) Unless you have 2000+miles on the pistons I would start out with the original pistons and once you have the turbo figured out then throw in the new ones. If you are going to install them just make sure you do it right and check tolerances.
