Throwing in another vote for the M7! Loved that thing like a son. Some clutching work helped out the bottom end as Glen said. I ran a can, some clutching work, and a 156x2.5" on mine and it was awesome! Plus it was nice having a "good working 700" to run with the 800 boys.

Don't think you can go wrong with either sled. I'd take the Rev simply because of your weight, the extra grunt off the bottom helps. As far as the sidehilling capabilities, they both are very easy. If you do get a Rev, make sure to get rid of the offset skis, I put the Skidoo 6.9 skis on mine, whole different animal. Wish I would have changed them sooner.

Very true on the Rev, the offset skis are good for sucking, thats about it, My RT1000 is a lot heavier and has simmons gen I skis and drop brackets and it out handles my rev 151 that is gutted as can be. its heavier, but the handeling is much better.

Either one is a great choice, if you get an 05 or 06 rev, really no major issues, or no more than any other sled in the world.

if you do get one, smittys drop bracks are the way to go, they handle indefinately better off trail then, they will sidehill much better.

If you want to spend a little more.... I have a 07 ski-doo 800 X package 151. Full SLP kit. Running about 168 hp. Sled has 370 miles on a new 2008 motor. All the updates are done and there is not an M7 or M8 that will touch this sled without a turbo. Will throw in the cover and tunnel bag. Very clean I am looking to sell for $6,200.00 pm me if interested

if your a tree rider or do alot of sidehilling go with the m7. the doo 8s cant touch you there and you can keep giving them fits on the deep pow days. just remember your riding a 7 and can hag with the 8s. for what it is you can't beat it. O and as tough as they come.

M6, M7, and M8 motor are tough

My buddy has like 6300 miles on his 06 M7 and they are about as hard of miles as you will ever find

Just put a new top end in this summer. Didn't blow up or burn down, just preventative.

Been through a couple primarys and Diamond Drives but that is with zero maintance.

He has towed out a lot of REVs:)

Not too bash, but I just don't think the 800 HO is a reliable motor? And R doesn't seem to be better?

Hahaha, i was wondering how long it would take someone to lynch him for that! I know what he was trying to say, it was just an over simplified way to say it :)

are you serious??

800 Rev. I weigh the same and you will not be happy with a stock 700. Go with the 800 and extra torque...plus I think the Rev chassis is miles above the M's. The M chassis is very simular feeling to my wife's 02 Edge.

You obviously have never ridden an M if you think they handle anything like an edge. Get your facts straight.

Keeping with your price range an 06 rev would be a great way to go. I had the 06 rev 159 and a 05 m7 162 at the same time. Both were great sleds but when you got use to the rev it would out perform the m in every way. Especially at your weight the xtra power is nice with the 800. All that said they were both good sleds and I wish I had not sold them. (my old m7 is for sale by jwhit right now in swapmeet)

Ride them!

I went through the same situation this fall. I was between a Rev or a M7. I went with the M7 because I didn't like the feel of the Rev Chassie, and the M felt more agile.

You need to find someone that will let you ride their M or Rev. Which ever feels best, get it! Then you don't have to listen to all this brand-loyality mumbo-jumbo.
