Best mountian sled for $4500 - $5000

Looking to upgrade from my 04 ve edge 800 151 to a newer chassis. I'm 220lbs and 6'4"
I see a lot of m7's on here with 153" tracks for around $4500.
But 04-06 800 revs seem to have a good rep too and make good hp stock.
I think polaris and yamaha are out of the question here unless????. So basically m7 or 800 rev or???
I'm worried that an m7 wouldn't be enough power coming from a 800 being bigger than the average rider.
I would like the m7 for efi and lighter/ easier to through around and i'm more into jumping than climbing.

My 2007 Dragon will be for sale real soon. Spend another $1000 and get a better chassis than both! Runs awesome.

I have an M7, questioned going to it after my 900 cat. I absolutely love it, no problems, a blast to ride, the EFI is awesome runs the same no matter where you go. But in all honesty-you can't go wrong with either, both are great sleds.

800 Rev. I weigh the same and you will not be happy with a stock 700. Go with the 800 and extra torque...plus I think the Rev chassis is miles above the M's. The M chassis is very simular feeling to my wife's 02 Edge.

buddy rides a 06 m7 with some mods, very similar size to you, the thing rips, stock for stock the 800 will hands down do more... a rev 151 or 159 would be my choice... i LOVE M7's as i rode one a lot last winter, i just like DOO's chassis more and the bigger motor never hurt.

Rx1

How about a YAMADOO? Buy an RX1 you can get used ones for pretty cheap then buy a Doo rear suspensions and put under it and remove as many wheels as possible and you will shave 22 lbs off of it. YOu can do a lot of lightening for a little money then have a sled that can take what you 220lbs can dish out. With out having something that sacrifices durability for lightweight!!!!

Pick up a good m7 for 3/3500.00 and put an 800 bigbore kit (12/1500.00) on it and don't look back. A skidoo won't touch you!

Coming off an an 06 M7 and now have an 09 M8.

Gotta vote M7 hands down.

Had an 03 EDGE RMK before my M7 and I just loved my M7. Is a blast to ride!!!

M-chassis is just plain fun to ride.

If your more of a trail rider, the REV sure does ride a lot better, but the handling off trail just can't compare IMO.

If your big into jumping and not into boondocking then the REV might be a better choice as well.

I went from an 06 Rev 151 to 09 M8 LE. When I had my Rev I beat all the M7's and Polaris Extreme 159's straight up the steep and deep and on the trail racing. But I would watch the M7's side hill into places I could NOT get my Rev into. The M chassis has an all around fun factor that I love. The Rev is great down the trail and straight up the hill oh yea they do awesome wheelies too.:D My sister has an 06 M7 153 with the challenger track I don't like the real slow bottom end of the 7, to me it feels like your riding a 500 then it slowly winds up, and in the end beats all the other 700's. the M7 rear suspension sucks on the trail. I think the Rev chassis is more comfortable but if you put a boss seat on the M it will be the same or better than your Edge.
I think that if you ride an 800 you wont like the take off or lack thereof on the M7. Just my opinion.
I love my M8 more than any of my other sleds but I think I would rather have your 04 RMK (with a boss seat)than an M7. again just my opinion
You can pick up an 07 600 RMK 155 for around that amount and have a blast, just as long as you don't want to climb big hills, and don't mind wedgie's. haha My step dad had one and it was a blast, it would keep up with all the 800's in the deep, but didn't have the power to climb in the steep and deep.

The M7 lag off the bottom is clutching

It can be fixed and made to be pretty snappy.

Mine was not as good as my M8 but I definitely improved it a lot over stock.

If i went with the m7 i would deffinitally want after market exhuast and things dialed in.

Yes i have rode a couple revs a few years back and loved how snappy the bottum end was.

The revs look like they have some ring and bearing issues. Do the m7s have any motor issues?

If you go with the Rev watch out for pine cones. jk.
I totaled mine. The left ski hit a tree, no more Rev for me.:(
Smashed the nun back on left side ripped it apart on the right and bent the bulkhead. The middle of my left ski hit the tree (i was turning right trying to go around the tree)not the front of the ski.
a friend of mine has a rev and hit head on (ski to ski)with a polaris edge. the edge had to replace his trailing arm and suspension on that side only, the rev.... toataled:( still sitting in the shop . 2 yrs now. He now has an XP

No reverse on M7 though!

You good with a wrench?

2006 RMK 900.

Cheap, tons of power, but they're not without their problems. (Stay away from the 05s though.)

Bought one last year, my first sled... love it.
