Best mods for a 2014 Pro

I think the Pro's best quality is it is ready out of the box to really go mountain riding. No mods needed except clutch for your elevation and turn the oiler up.

If you have the cash, in this sport, the sky is the limit. Lot's of mods to improve the sled or any sled.
I've done lots to my sled 'cause I enjoy it. If I was starting again 1st thing would be the TRS thermo mod (helps at holding power, runs at lower temps and quicker to come back up to temp), 2nd would be C3 to gear down (helps every part of the drivetrain, improves performance and further lightens the QD), 3rd would be the Timbersled rear arm set-up (holds so much less snow and just works well all day).

In my opinion the best weights on the market right now. Fully adjustable. You can add weight in heel-mid-toe. All of the 800 we run with all have these weights and they all run excellent. The right clutching will make a huge difference with the 800's. I promise you won't be disappointed with them.

Anymore info Kcj? Spring rate? Approx. base weight for stock motor? Name? Price? Where to purchase? lol.

I almost picked these up from Rooster this fall but with basically a completely new to me sled this fall, I decided to tune with more traditional weights first. Then I just rode lol. I think I tried everything last year EXCEPT these weights lol.

I've heard nothing but good about these but also have a thin drawer in my second tool box that is already full with primary weights lol.
I've learned 3 places to adjust is way better than 2 to get to perfect and I've learned you can get the curve to the point that it dictates rpm almost as much as weight added.

So pros and cons, side by side comparison maybe, learning or tuning curve, elevations from users? Everyone likes to "bolt on" performance. Hope users chime in.

These aren't rooster weights, they are Tri city Polaris pro weights. I was told they were designed by Max that use to run their race team. They run about 300.00 with extra hardware.

The base weights are 52 grams, you max out at 84 grams with tungsten washers. And they get expensive around $8.00 a washer for the tungsten. You can run from stock to turbo using the same weights. They pretty easy to tune and they make it very easy to tune the whole powerband.

We run from 8000-11000 ft and Ben at Tri city has a setup perfect for a stock sled with only a can. I honestly don't know the exact weight they have loaded in them for the stock, I just know they work. We run a 100-340 spring in primary and a black/purple spring with a 56-40/56-38 helix. Trii city has a clutches setup you can order as a package for them.

I haven't haven't any problems with the weights whatsoever! I run them in my 910 and love them. I was able to load a lot of weight in the heel and in the mid of the weight and it really helped the motor pull through the whole rpm range and not just zip through the mid range and not feel like it's actually pulling.

Just picked up 13 pro with 280 miles on it. Does anyone have suggestions on which front tunnel braces are the best bang for the buck?

From a previous post below.

If your sled is already damaged... I Highly recommend the Vanamburg tunnel brace set... Cut from CrMo steel... very nice fit... but requires some disassembly of the sled. VE makes nice stuff.

I'm running the FastTrax Tunnel PROtector kit on my current sled and will be installing it on my next one as well.

Install it on a new sled.. before you buckle your tunnel

IMO... It should be one of the first upgrades on your PRO RMK for anyone that crashes or hits stumps/rocks with their pro chassis RMK's...high quality laser cut stainless steel parts.. even has the long drill bit you'll need..

You don't have to disassemble the sled to install it.

Before anyone busts my chops ... YES, I paid for it.

When I first had it in my hands, I was pretty sceptical about it. I had a chassis torn down to nothing to do some other work and I installed the kit so I was able to actually feel the before and after... Before that whole area was flimsy... the FTX kit locked everything together and sandwiched the tunnel in that weak area... worth the money IMO.

No damage on mine. I saw the fastraxx kit. For the money it looks hard to beat.

Kurts polaris makes some nice reinforcement plates as well. They also have a nice gear down kit for the belt drive
